Courier Cost Cutting Feedback/Discussion thread

well that baloonandgift or something are not doing so well for me.
First of all their listings didn''t state that there was no saturday collection.
Then they emailed me saying sorry after i contacted them asking why they set the collection date for the 7th.

I told them that there was no one in on Monday(today) untill 3. So he said thats fine.
Parcel Force then came at 7.30!
I have just used the tracking number on the website and it says 48Hours! for delivery on the 9th when i paid for 24hours!

I have emailed them, waiting for a reply now.

On friday 4/4/08 I searched ebay classifieds and found portsnparcel who claim to work with parcelforce providing a courier service. I contacted them with all the info required and arranged collection for today 7/4/08 and made due payment through paypal. The courier didnt arrive as arranged so I phoned portsnparcel on 3 occassions asking them to track the collection service. When 5pm came and I had been given numerous excuses and told that parcelforce had messed up I asked portsnparcel for a consignment number, I was given one that when I then phoned parcel force, it appeared that that was a number for an order in a different town one month ago. It turns out that they have stopped portsnparcels account as they didn't pay them. I have since phoned portsnparcel to request my payment back, with no answer and emailed them, with no response. I've emailed ebay and requested my payment back at paypal, any advice how to make sure I get refunded?

look back over the thread.many people join and say x courier is great/crap and then disappear
you would hink they had a vested interest

I see, perhaps thats the case, there'll always be those who have a positive /negative experience but its still useful to read others' experience then opt for the good ol' reliable, thats my new moto!!

as all newbies start out with one post, including yourself, maybe you should realise on a thread like this, one off posting to Australia is not unusual and therefore using the courier could be a one off with no follow up, it's not every day I would be sending large packages to Oz, so would probably have remained a one post wonder, I have no vested interest and only posted because as I said I was amazed with the service and was invited to leave feedback on other couriers not listed:p

I booked a collection through them late last night and I've confirmed through the local Parcelforce depot that the collection is definitely booked in for today. So I would not worry too much.
