Like the idea of making your own icing sugar though! No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.3 -

Noodles have really shot up from about 20p for the cheap stuff to about 45-50p. There also seems to be a big influx of Asian instant ramen brands coming into play. They seem to be retailing at £1/pack equivalent (£4.10 for a 5 pack in one Orange supermarket, £5.50 for a 5 pack in the local Asian supermarkets). Until recently I have never realised just how many variations on instant noodles there are. Stocks have been acquired...Mortgage free by 33 - (21/07/22 - 32 years and a bit...)
Most DIY problems can be solved by a combination of spanner, pliers, screwdriver, Allan key and a blade. (Hold it, twist it, cut it!) Very occasionally industrial language, a hammer and an adhesive may need to be added to the mix. (Curse it, hit it, patch it!)3 -
Yes, I’ve noticed over the past 6 months or so that noodles have either gone up in price or are just no longer on the shelves. A pack of noodles with veg and a soft boiled egg - yum - has been a staple weekly lunch of mine for years! HB used to do a pack of 4 for £1 which disappeared ages ago, and even the supermarket brand ones are more expensive.Aldi had a special offer of the Koka brand on a while ago for 40p so I bought 10 packets 😬Books read 2023 - 49/753

Morrisons today had their own brand butter at £1.89 per pack so have picked up 4 packs which will last quite a while as it's mainly DH who uses it.2

I bought M&S own brand salted butter at £3.40 for a 500g pack today. It's the cheapest I've found recently.2

I checked today that Farm Foods are still doing 2 x 250g butter (salted/unsalted) for £3.20.
I already have a load in the freezer4 -
My M&S didn't have any cheap butter at all only the more expensive branded ones. Unfortunately I don't have a Farm Foods anywhere near me, otherwise I would use it regularly as they have lots of bargains.
If I find one near where I am in the motorhome then I usually pick up a few things to take home with me!

I picked up a tub of lurpack spreadable today, sell by date 15/11 500g for £1.55. Also a box of special k with a battered box for £1.25.
I felt like I had won the lottery.8 -
Not surprising really, but my favourite winter lunch - Heinz Lentil Soup - is now around £1 tin, rather than 8 for £5 or whatever the offers were last year. So now I'm making my own lentil and carrot soup which is a fraction of the price.5
