Did shop today and Prawns were cheaper than Margarine. I was surprised by this as see prawns as luxury and Margarine as a basic and not suggesting you use prawns instead of Margarine. It seems to me the basics are getting very expensive and we should switch our diets possibly. Some more examples would be most helpful

I don't think so. Cheapest prawns around £12/kg vs margarine £2/kg. It's amount per set quantity which counts.otb666 said:Did shop today and Prawns were cheaper than Margarine. Co-op are a convince store and market their prices accordingly. For me personally I avoid them at all costs.timehastoldme said:

But Kellogg's products have been pricey since 2019/20. I no longer buy their products as a big box of cereal can be 8% of my weekly budget7 -
They're having a laugh, that's just ridiculous, no-one will buy them.timehastoldme said:

Morries are currently giving 5p/l off fuel if you spend £40 instore - but they have put their prices up by 8p/l! Yesterday it went up to £1.60 for unleaded. Mr Ts which is a short distance away was charging £1.52/l - guess where I filled up!

It's cheaper to buy butter from M&S (£1.75) than it is to buy it from Aldi (£1.99). A couple of weeks ago butter was £1.75 in Sainsbury's but is now £1.99 because they have "price matched" Aldi! Way to throw away a competitive advantage, inSainsbury's. 🤨6

Tesco used to sell their battered fish (Hearty Food Co) for £1.79. They've priced matched Aldi and its now £3.29 🤨🙄Broadsword66 said:It's cheaper to buy butter from M&S (£1.75) than it is to buy it from Aldi (£1.99). I think they do that so they can put them on an a multibuy offer, eg 2 for £10 to hoodwink the customer into thinking there is an economy of scale to be had.YoungBlueEyes said:Christ £7
