Thanks for this. Unfortunately we don't have a Lidl near us - I keep living in hope that they (or Aldi) may one day see fit to open one in our area.flipflopflo said:@YorksLass, Lidl do a cinnamon grahams taste a like which is really nice. I love anything with cinnamon too but have refused to buy nestle because of their morals so was chuffed to bits when hubby came home with these.
Another one who's not bothered about crisps and, yes, I remember the Smiths crisps with the little paper twist of salt. I occasionally buy a 6-pack of plain ones for DH when they're on promotion and sometimes have a packet myself - although I tend to eat just half of the pack and have the other half next day in a cheese sandwich. Not as gross as it sounds, honest.

Heinz ketchup in the Co Op is £4.85, of course they are sold out of own brand @ 80p. I didn't buy any.2

That is just madness! Having said that I haven't seen any generic tomato ketchup - even the new one - in Lidl for the last month either.TimSynths said:Heinz ketchup in the Co Op is £4.85, of course they are sold out of own brand @ 80p. I didn't buy any.No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.2 -

Have a friend who worked as a Environmental Health Officer who will only eat bread from there, because their specification for flour used is so high. Less ppm.maryb said:Marks marks is often surprisingly good value for some of the basics - like sliced bread. The secret is to get in and out without succumbing to all the other temptations4 -
I don’t mind crisps, but I don’t eat them very often.Doesn’t matter what flavour/brand they are cos I pour salt+vinegar or salt+pepper in them regardless 😀Shout out to people who don't know what the opposite of in is.3

I've given up with Lidl now and gone back to Tesco. Every time i went (normally @ 8am on a Saturday morning) it was like 3pm on Xmas eve, empty shelves everywhere and could go months without some products. Popped in on Tuesday morning to get some coffee and as per usual didn't have the ground one I wanted. Ive found Tesco not that more expensive, open longer and so far no gaps on the shelves.Rosa_Damascena said:

My brother in law is a beef farmer that supplies M&S, Waitrose and Mcdonalds, its McDonalds that are the most demanding.Eldi_Dos said:

@TimSynths, we’re having the opposite experience here. The shelves in Ald!/Lid! are well stocked and our Tesc@ shelves are empty.

The cheapest mozzarella ball in Tesco has gone up to 90p now, it used to be 35p pre-pandemic. I went to Lidl and got two for 50p each instead... still an increase though.£2023 in 2023 challenge - £17.79 January5
