  • I doubt the panetonne will be scrumptious! (Think they are boring anyway) Maybe for a trifle or two?? Soaked in something alchofrolic?
Pudding & cake will be perfectly fine and well 'matured' Yummy. Enjoy
Yes its bound to be dry, but I'm sure it will be fine doused in cream :)

The prices of such delicacies this year are just silly.
No man is worth crawling on this earth.

So much to read, so little time.

Yesterday bought Glenryk pilchards in Tesco (400g tin) which are a replacement for Chappie for my old hound.

Surprising thing here is Tesco is the cheapest @ £1.10 per tin (yes, Trolley shows Coop as cheapest but none in there) and the dearest? Asda @ £1.40

It is also cheaper to buy 2kg granulated sugar (per `100g)- £1.25 in Tesco (wish I'd known that beforehand: only bought one) works out cheaper than Aldi

Been using Aldi Beans & sausage on toast for breakfast now I am semi retired and home 5 days a week. a tin was 46p and lasted me 3 breakfasts but they have had none now for 3 weeks so last night on way home from work called in B&M, only had Heinz and £1.40 a tin.
Basket put back and me back in car with nothing  not paying that price (not even keen in Heinz) so will just have to wait for Aldi to get some in.
They do seem to be a lot of odd things missing for weeks on shelves, last one was Malted milk biscuits both Aldi & Lidl had none for weeks

The milk chocolate Oaties biscuits were finally back in Tesco last week, having been on the missing list for at least 3 months. At 70p way cheaper than Hobnobs

Was in Marks yesterday and there were yet more price rises.  Butter now £2 and milk had gone up to £1.65 for four pints.  Someone on here mentioned that they sign long term contracts with their suppliers and up to now that has meant their prices were stable.  Looks like that isn’t the case anymore but I do hope they are passing on the increase to the farmers.  At any rate, they had plenty of eggs so I bought a dozen without looking at the price.  It’s Stir Up Sunday this week and I need eggs for the cake and the pudding
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!
