Try lidl own brand - the bottles not the cans. Im a Diet Coke / Pepsi Max junky but can happily drink the lidl own brand from the bottles - the cans arent so nicesarahj1986 said:I’m not usually a brand snob but fizzy cola has to be either Pepsi max or Diet Coke. I got an 8 pack of Pepsi max just under 2 weeks ago £3.50 now it’s £4. It’s getting to the point I can no longer justify the price. I’d rather go without which I guess isn’t a bad thing. Especially as Tesco own Fanta and Sprite are 4 for £1

Chicken legs from m&s
Are these the ones? This is ocado and I have noticed they are always a few pence more than m&s shop.

I think those were the ones - I’ve no idea about the weight of the pack, but I got three huge chicken legs which I roasted for sandwiches x 4, and then made soup x 4 with the leftovers, so economical for eight portions. They were definitely £1.20 tho, I remember mentioning it to DH.Books read 2023 - 49/753

Yes those are the ones. I think chicken drumsticks were £1.20. I also had some nice veg for a good price too. I don’t have a M&S anywhere close but if you do it would be worth popping in3

I got a bag of granulated sugar in Savers last week for 62p which I turned into caster sugar for baking by whizzing up in my blender.I think caster sugar in the supermarkets is arounf £1.20 a bag so well worth the effort of a few minutes in the blender. Do it for a bit longer and voila you have icing sugar

M&S and Waitrose are always cheap for chicken thighs, legs, drumsticks and wings. Because they have higher welfare standards than other supermarkets, they have to commit to buy whole birds - i.e. they have to balance the amount of legs they sell with the amount of breasts. There is generally higher demand for breasts so they price the other parts accordingly.7

I do this whenever I buy sugar - only one takes it in tea, 1/3 granulated, 1/3 caster . 1/3 icingLondon_1 said:

I bought the pack of chicken legs from m&s today and they were £1.20 for 3.

I work in a branch of Grape Tree. For large packs of seeds, nuts, dried fruit etc the prices are very competitive and you can get 2% back with the loyalty card too. I’m very lucky to be able to get staff discounts on lots of basic ingredients.Sapindus said:We've just had a Grape Tree open in our town centre and I price checked the ground flax seed against Aldi. Aldi is £6+ a kilo in a small pack, and GT is £5 for a 1 kilo pack. Based on this I suspect their sunflower seeds will also be cheaper, something I use a lot of.2 -
I never buy caster sugar, I just use granulated for all baking and it turns out fine 🙂
Like the idea of making your own icing sugar though!Part time working mum of DS (2015) and DD (2018).
