Well done Ditty and CharleyStone. Changing eating for health, especially if it means no bread, is no fun but I always found it much easier than dieting with just willpower. Sometimes I wish they could put my gallstones back in

Izadora I lost 4 stone before i had my gall stone out (about 10 years ago and it was one large one) no fat especially the 3 Cs cream, cheese and chocolate and I lived with the gall stone longer than i should as i didn't want surgery.

I'm one of the 'lucky' ones in that having it out and eating fat gives me know issues! so i went back to my old habits and put 5 stone back on which i have been playing at losing since lock down, i had lost half of it before March 2020  :#

Do you all think this is the trickiest quarter for losing weight? Dark nights, cold weather, pumpkin spiced everything and the festive season?!  >:)

    • Nice to see new people have joined and our other friends are back.

I have been feeling !!!!!! for the last 10 days, even did a test at the weekend.  My IBS has been really bad, and I do not do well taking Codeine (bloating), I have been given new anti-inflammatory which might have added to the bloat.

I don't know if cutting down on carbs (mainly the couple of spuds I have with my tea) had an adverse reaction, I also didn't eat as much fruit.

Frith, Brambling, Izadora and Van_girl, I am in agreement about the weather / dark nights.

So, we one or more birthday or celebration every week this month, I am allowing myself a chicken kebab and bottle of plonk.

I am getting on the scales when I feel like it, no point in stressing.

    • Totally missed weighing in today, Saturday is my normal day. We had covid boosters today so out early, and rewarded ourselves with stroop waffles and iced coffee! I doubt this will be a good week, but I'll weigh tomorrow.

@Van_Girl yep I find Autumn worst, starts with my bday at the end of Sept, and runs through til early Jan. Halloween and xmas are big downfalls for me

    • 2 lbs down this week :) it's likely water weight as it's the first week I've shown any restraint lol

Brambling I had my gallstones longer than I should have done too. I was in my final year of my degree so, as well as not having the time, I was being bounced between two different areas and neither wanted to do it.

Jenny I hope you're feeling better now. Enjoy the kebab and plonk.

Flamingo Well done for the loss. It doesn't matter if it's water weight, it's heading in the right direction and a deserved reward for showing restraint.

I was brave and got on the scales this morning. It actually wasn't as bad as I feared and I managed to finish last quarter lighter than I started so I'll take that as a win.
I'm going to have to be very determined for the next 3 weeks. My Halloween costume arrived on Saturday and it took an awful lot of pushing and shoving to get me into it and I could barely move my arms or breathe once it was done up...
Me being me, I of course decided that pizza on Saturday and Chinese yesterday was a good way to deal with needing to drop a dress size in less than a month 🙄

      Best of luck everyone xx

Well done on your first loss Flamingo :)  I agree with Izadora a loss is a loss

Well done on last quarter loss Izadora and for getting on the scales today :) I'm still walking around mine in the mornings and pretending they aren't in the bathroom.  What is the Halloween customer?

New week, new start guys :)

I weighed this morning but for various reasons I don't trust it, so I'm going to try again tomorrow  :D

One of my "various reasons" for not trusting the scales today might be the Chinese  I had last night :#>:)
