it's a bit early in the thread for me to lose the plot 😬

Brambling, thank you for the thread.
I'm with you on the self sabotage at the moment but very much trying to get a grip so could you please put me down for 14lb again this quarter.
Best of luck everyone xx4 -
@Brambling et al
Still aiming for the next 0 point as I was last quarter. I obviously was not successful but did begin to see some progress towards the end - mostly due to an early start to having a dry October.
So to keep things simple please put me down as a goal of 7. Anything more (in a non weight loss phrase) will be jam. And very welcome jam at that.
My methods this quarter will be combining some old standards - no/low carb and no/little alcohol - with some stressful twists of my own.
First challenge this month is flying off to see my mom for the first time in 2 1/2 years. Visiting is normally stressful enough but mom has this last week moved from a drop dead gorgeous home to an assisted living flat and is not really a happy bunny about it all. It was a family ultimatum which she understands most of the time but she's a stubborn mule so there are occasional kicks. One of the pluses that I mentioned, I think, previously is that this means I'll be staying in the family home with one of my brothers who is teetotal and on an extremely restricted diet - I'm going to try to just fall in with that because it is an incredibly healthy regime. He also walks a fair bit so that will be good for me too.
Second stress challenge will be when I get back just a few days before my MiL's funeral so there will be raw emotions, mostly from the OH, and the arrangements, and chatting with all the relatives (some of whom aren't talking to each other) and wrangling the few friends that might also attend (again some of whom aren't talking to each other). So no pressure, right??!!?! I think I'll be hard put to get through that day without having a medicinal glug or two.
In the backdrop to all of this is me trying to deal with all the household finances for us and my mom overseas, get used to a new job, finalise what's happening with all my pension stuff in a crashed stock market and deal with a neighbour's cat who is considering us as his new or supplementary staff (which is in fact delightful but I know I must not lure him).
And then in Nov there's the OH's birthday and then in Dec is my significant birthday.
