I am, I have a 1 year fix maturing tomorrow so I will transfer that in.

We are experiencing a high volume of calls and unfortunately your call wait time may be up to 1 hour.
Many of the calls we are receiving are in relation to the following savings products:
    • 1 Year Fixed Rate ISA (Issue 61)
    • 1 Year Fixed Rate Bond (Issue 61)
    • 2 Year Fixed Rate ISA (Issue 81)
    • 2 Year Fixed Rate Bond (Issue 81)
Thank you for your interest, however, due to high levels of demand, these products are now unavailable.
If you have already opened one of the above accounts you will shortly receive an email confirmation, which will also include details about how to fund your account.

When I logged on to online banking 5 minutes ago, their 2-year Bond and ISA were still appearing available to apply, so worth trying if someone with an existing account with Newcastle (and online banking access) is interested.

Is it possible to pay more money into the account than the amount you state on your application, or do they return the ‘extra’ deposit?

I stated £500, put in £500 then put in a bit more later.

So I see Atom bank 1 year fix  is 4.11%.. It’s all very clever, scoop up the savers who were disappointed not getting NBS at 4.10%.

My next entry point will be around 4.5%.

Then the big one for me when I will put in 85K will be early next year at 5% +

Remember it’s us (cash savers)  vs them (banks) So keep the faith and hold your nerves.

5% is my trigger point too. Everything but my emergency float. With two mpc meetings before Christmas, base rates are definitely going up.

Why do you think Atoms rate is still on the market after 5 days while UBI and NBS took their product off the market after 2-3 days?

    1. Bigger pot to fill to meet their target.
    2. Savers are running out of cash to save.
    3. They know more rate rises are coming, so trying to suck in more cash.
    4. Savers are not playing the game, just treading water.
    5. Their rate has been beaten now so what the hell.

I think we will have some interesting (pun intended) months ahead so this quote might be apt.

“If you can keep your head when all about you Are losing theirs”
