Shawbrook allow additions up to 7 days after an issue is closed if you already have one - Newcastle do seem to allow extra deposits so you can make a smaller initial payment and then top up but make no mention of extra time. So an annoying scenario would be when they want address proof and so the account is not fully opened, and then they close the issue so quickly.
  • Hooray £500 showing now , hopefully can get more in today.
  • Appealing for wisdom from readers having jumped in with both feet this morning :)

Application successful for transfer in from existing ISA which matures on 24 October.

This is a savings bond account and not an ISA .

    My application confirmation email says:

"You will need to fund your account within 14 days of submitting your application in one of the following ways:"

So I would assume we have a 14 day window to make as many deposits as we like.

    Indeed; however, it also says:
'Please note the Newcastle One Year Fixed Rate Bond (Issue 61) is a limited issue product that can be withdrawn at any time. Please act quickly to ensure funds and requested documents are received promptly. We reserve the right to refuse any funds received after the product is withdrawn.'

    ?

I interpret that means if you don’t pay any money in by 14 days whey will close the account.

  • I did laugh when I viewed my statement and it said ‘faster payment’ received. , it only took 20hrs to appear ! Transferred more an hr ago but not showing , could be in for a long haul.

My £500 is in, Payed in a larger amount but just after 1pm. I wonder if this will clear today.

  • Has anybody used the reference number again when transferring £££ , it does say only use for initial deposit but can’t see an issue with future payments.
