You have to use a ref number or it may rebound, so I shouldn’t see a problem their.

Been a while since I read the blurb, but you will get a 13 digit account number in the post. For future payments I think they want you to use this for a reference. ( if you get a chance to add more money)

It's true that the initial deposit has to be within 14 days and that can be done with a reference number before the account is fully opened for online access. But they dont say that the 14 day window also applies to additional deposits, let's hope that as theyve closed it to new applicants so soon they'll give some leeway until they actually replace it with a new issue.dcs34 said:
My application confirmation email says:jak22 said:Shawbrook allow additions up to 7 days after an issue is closed if you already have one - Newcastle do seem to allow extra deposits so you can make a smaller initial payment and then top up but make no mention of extra time. So an annoying scenario would be when they want address proof and so the account is not fully opened, and then they close the issue so quickly.
"You will need to fund your account within 14 days of submitting your application in one of the following ways:"
So I would assume we have a 14 day window to make as many deposits as we like.
Shawbrook have a 7 days window but Newcastle say "You may only make further Deposits into this account while the account is a current issue. This account is offered on a limited basis and may be withdrawn at any time and without notice. We reserve the right to refuse any further Deposits into this account following the withdrawal of the product"

As someone mentioned earlier that could take a while as Royal Mail are striking Friday , Saturday this week. Fingers crossed my 2nd payment goes in ok with the initial ref no.Thumbs_Up said:Pompeydave1967 said:Has anybody used the reference number again when transferring £££ , it does say only use for initial deposit but can’t see an issue with future payments.Been a while since I read the blurb, but you will get a 13 digit account number in the post. Once you receive your User ID email, you can get your 13 digit acc. no. by logging into your online account - no need to wait for 'snail mail'.

Its reasonable to want to make a smaller initial payment using the temporary reference and check its received OK before adding more using the account number when its received - but it's brave to do that before having account access to check the first payment went through OK even if their system does allow multiple deposits using that temp. ref. number.0
