EDIT: Luckily still/already had an account with them as there is now a waiting list to join. However, I have trouble signing in, some weird network/country IP address error. Asked them about it telling, them I am in the UK and have always been and got a reply that it will probably work again once I'm back from holiday in my home country, eh?DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/259 -

Finally caught up! Ha ha ha @f0xh0les! It is exciting to me but also terrifying.... I have entered the London Marathon aaargh! Unfortunately couldn't get into the main event but am going to run it virtually around my local area.
I used to run before having children but haven't in 9 years so am well out of practice.
Always wanted to do it but was constantly putting off entering after priorising everything and everyone else but after having a chat with my uncle last week about doing what we want to do otherwise we might never get the chance and regret it (we were chatting about my mum, his sister who died at 61) I thought stuff it, I'm giving it a go!
Hope your son can get the help he needs @f0xh0les, if it is depression it feels like a vacuum of feelings. I am glad he has you by his side for support. Please make sure you take care of yourself too.2024 decluttering Campaign

Afternoon Turtles. Today is not going well. New dishwasher came but they couldn’t fit it as the legs on the old one wouldn’t unscrew so I have had the installation fee refunded and now have a dishwasher blocking my hallway. I went out this afternoon, leaving DS2 very clear instructions on why he wasn’t to eat the eggs (need them for carbonara tonight). Came back and he had eaten them. I refuse to replace them until shopping day so will have to rethink.
Did some wallpapering for one of my customers this afternoon as I owed her some time. I adore wallpapering so the day wasn’t a complete washout. Also got 2 loads of washing dry on the line.
This warm weather is confusing all the plants in my garden and my lobelia and sweet Williams are still flowering away!
Today I am grateful for wallpaper, the unseasonably warm weather and managing not to kill DS2.

Got up this morning all ready to go see the Boy and give his flat a bit of a tidy. Bucketing down. So change of plan. I'll go tomorrow.
So I've spent the day doing houseworky things. Very boring.
Yet another couple of very important football matches on tonight. Guess who'll be in bed early with a book and a pot of tea!Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.9 -
Quiet day today for me. Did a workout first thing this morning before work, managed a walk at lunchtime (beautiful day, shame about the wind!), and just did yoga so I've definitely ticked off my exercise box! If only every day could be like today!
Sorted through and finalised November's budget. Bought some tickets to see a comedian in December with a friend at the O2, and also bought a ticket to a horsey thing just for myself, also in December. Topped up my Oyster card ready for next month and feel thoroughly prepped!
I went down to my basement earlier to stash my newly-bought camping stove and got thinking about whether I should also stash some tins of food down there just in case. Started having visions of those full on preppers you see on TV and decided against it, but have also read about people who are doing just that in case of rolling blackouts. Not sure whether to take the plunge and just have a few bits stored for emergencies...8 -
Nothing wrong with having a few extra tins or 'kettle food' just in case, you could always use them for work/travel if the blackouts do not materialise. As long as you can make a cuppa, fill a hot water bottle, have a hot chocolate, or some soup, it is not like you are building a self composting toilet down there.
Pancakes are easy and always welcome too. Girl guides will no doubt remember cooking pancakes on an upturned tin can with a candle underneath
Not thought of that for years.
I say a hot water bottle, as I have just realised my gas boiler has an electric timer - so that is scuppered if the leccy goes off - no hot water, no central heating. The gas cooker has an electric sparker whatnot, but I can bypass that with my handy box of matches cunningly stored on the window sill. Funny what pops into your head on a Wednesday night, isn't it?4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!
