NST OCTOBER 2022: Autumn Leaves and Sloe Berries

Thank you for all the lovely "Welcome back" messages.
It feels good to be back. So far so good, day 3 and still motivated (had plenty of little motivational fires that fizzled out after a few days). Keeping going by doing loads of financial planning, meal planning, taking stock etc. What got me the last few attempts was the "unexpected", i.e. something that wasn't really unexpected but I overlooked it and forgot to plan ahead for.
@Toni's friend. I often think the same. How lucky we are looking at our fridge and freezer and how frivolous our household's groceries are in comparison to so many other people (and how much simpler we would live, how much cheaper our food bill could be). The only thing we're doing quite good is food waste.

Evening turtles
Had a really good sleep last night after my massage, woke up a bit before my alarm went off and decided to get up. Had swimming booked so went down there early, haven't swam for maybe a month or so and really enjoyed it. Need to make more effort to go.
Had a nice surprise in that I got paid from my part time job, only £40 after tax but wasn't expecting it until next month. Incorporated that into November's budget. They've offered me additional work in November which I've accepted, the shifts are short so it's nowhere near as taxing as my old part-time job.
Had a relatively quiet day at work but got everything done that needed doing, which is the main thing. Checked my finances and it's looking far healthier than it ever does at this time of the month, I did get paid more than expected this month which is probably why! But I didn't fritter it away for a change...10 -
The staff at the new workplace were chatting away on the headsets, complaining about how this week has been so busy, already and they seem to think people are starting their shopping early while they can still afford it, and are going to try and spread the cost over the next 3 months instead of waiting until November. I still cannot believe people decide to go and look for a coat at 8pm on a Monday night. There is a whole other world of people I never knew existed..... one's who can happily spend 3 hours in one department store and then come back and buy the first thing they tried on...... and that is just the men.Managed to blitz the cleaning, only the ground floor left to do. Supper was easy - burgers. Then made Twinks hobnobs for the lunch boxes tomorrow. DH is convinced he is coming down with a cold. I am keeping well out of it. Going to get DS1 to go to the Drs - I think he might be depressed. He says he doesn't feel anything. He is just happy to sleep the day away, go nowhere, do nothing, and he can't remember conversations that were had with him. He just seems confused. I dunno.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Evening Turtles, here’s my update for today.
Outside - Walked to parents and watched ds at training so plenty of cold, fresh air.
Inside - I fully intended to do a 20 minute inside task but finished work a bit late and had to visit my parents before tea so didn’t do anything.
Fun - Catching up with parents.
Food / alcohol - Healthy food (hm soup & leftover chicken with some ping rice). No alcohol.
Read - about to be read to by ds.
Plan for December - Nothing today.
NSD - 13/15 no money so can’t spend!
MSE - Put heating on but lower than I usually would. Used leftovers, completed a survey.
Gratitude - Recognising that all is not well with me with work. I am just not happy with how everything is a query. I have to change my attitude rather than complain about everything! I have improved a few processes to try and make it better but can’t change other peoples stupidity. I am going to reevaluate in January to see if it’s just an issue I’m having this month and perhaps look for something else. I’m sure if I do a pros & cons list my current job would win over its well paid , suitable hours, close to home and mostly wfh, but it’s making me a bit flat right now. Might also be my age 🤔😂

Morning all,
@Idee2111 not sure if this will work for you, but YWA 1st thing in the morning is the only time I get it done. I'd slipped out of a 2 year habit recently, but have managed to get back on track and done YWA yesterday and today. Just 5 mins yesterday and 10 mins today but its all about consistency with me. I do get up at 5.30am and go to bed at 9.30pm though! It's hard to start with but once your circadian rhythm gets used to it, you actually don't need an alarm clock and you feel so much better for the routine.
@f0xh0les I'm so sorry to hear that your DS isn't feeling himself. I don't mind sharing that during lockdown, my DD1 developed an eating disorder. She constantly said she couldn't feel anything during this time. No happiness, no sadness, nothing at all. The depression was very deep. I'm not suggesting he has an ED, but your concern about what he's said is spot on. You're absolutely doing the right thing by taking him to the doctors. Sending much love.
Update for yesterday and plans for today;
Outside One meeting cancelled and I did manage to get a 30 min walk in.
Inside Nope
Fun Nope
Food/Drink AF 15/31. Had a glass of wine last night with my hm veg lasagne as I've now got the rest of the week off.
Read yes, listened to Dave Ramsey podcast on way to work
Plan 4 Dec Nothing.
Gratitudes Grateful for an overnight break with OH and pooch. It's only 30 mins away and it was cheap as chips, but lots of nice walks and pubs to take dog. I consider these mini breaks a 'need' to cope with the stressors of life! Especially as OH and I are often passing ships who don't have a proper convo for months!
Yoga/Meditation YES! Planning my morning by journalling about it just before I go to sleep seems to be helping enormously. I remember feeling so much better in myself throughout the day yesterday for having done it; calmer, more content. I do swear it has huge benefits!
Spending 7/10 NSDs now. Spent on some groceries to take with us overnight, so no NSD. Probably won't be one until Thursday or Friday now. Still time to get to 10 though.
Have a good day all.

Good morning,
reading about surveys and selling, I need to start doing that again. Just wasn't in the right mindset for a long time and just chucked stuff I could've probably sold. Luckily still have plenty of stuff to sort. Will start with my wardrobe tonight and look into V1nted as my student said that works well or better that eBay for clothes etc. I also reinstated my Sw@9bucks account again.

Morning all!7am and still total darkness. Bliss! Forgot to bring in the washing last night, so it is all soggy and it is remaining outside until it is dry. So there!Today's fun and thrilling roller coaster ride of entertainment involves cleaning the ground floor of my house, because I am off on the train tomorrow down to Lundun for work on Friday and I will feel guilty if I leave the house in this state
. I have just realised it actually stops me from being able to work on Thursday, so I will treat it as a mini-mini-break. Only one more booking after this one, but I will have to re-evaluate next year, and not get pushed into going to one-day-jobs because other people don't want to go on their own. I am rubbish at saying NO!
It got cold here at 8 last night so the heat went on for an hour. I do not feel bad about it.Roll on payday next ShinyNewWeekDay (TM)4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!
