It's also piddling down down here, f0xh0les ☂️. So I've watched the recorded women's rugby, and some Santas and elves now have bottoms, legs, arms and maybe a pompom or two. 7 down, 6 to go...

I couldn't cross the picket line either, f0xh0les. Well done for sticking to your principles.
A really lovely man came today and installed our nice, new, shiny freezer. How he managed to get the old one out I'll never know. Really fantastic customer service. I'm going to write to the company and tell them how good all their staff have been. It's all to common to see people complaining so when staff are that good it should be recognised.
I must confess I haven't done very much the last couple of days so lots to do tomorrow.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.10 -
Afternoon turtles, have to admit the bad weather made me cancel my plans today. Was meant to do the usual horse ride but there were thunderstorms forecast and I didn't think it was the smartest idea even on my safe horse. Of course said thunderstorm never really materialised although the rain was really heavy. I'm sad I've missed out on pony time (especially as my back felt great today for the first time all week) but glad that I stayed dry.
OH and I went out to do a few chores, I used a voucher to get a few bits in Wilko then we went to get some eggs. Stopped off for a coffee which he paid for.
Did some jobs around the house, cleaned kitchen and bathroom, and did a workout. Noticing the darkness is starting to draw in already and then realised clocks change next week! Can't believe it's almost November!11 -

Hugs @beanielou rest up and try and get out a little in the sunshine if there is any tomorrow. It all helps. This weather is rotten, but it will not last forever. Try and think up some 'cozy' things to do with the darker evenings. I have not heard if they are scrapping the clocks going back or moving them this year. They mention something in the media, and then the story disappears. Oh well, they are due to go back next weekend so they will have to make up their minds soon. This month has been an absolute rotter for me, I have work expenses that will not be paid until the last day of November, and wages from this month that won't be paid until then. It is a long time to be waiting. Not sure if my new work this month will be paid at the end of this month or November again. I literally know nothing this month!! and I seem to know less and less as the month goes on! All I can do is keep a note of what I am owed, and make sure it is right when I am paid.Grateful for: free parking on a Sunday means I kept my NSD yay!!, meeting nice people at work, made 4 fab pizzas for supper with stuff in the fridge, and cut them with scissors a la @greent - converted!! and for 2 kids getting their manes sheared.8 days left of the challenge - try and eat from the cupboards - it does not have to be gourmet every meal, try and keep a hold of the purse strings, payday is on the way.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Today I am grateful for the lovely people at the bouldering centre, for dh getting home earlier than I expected so we glimpsed him before we went out, for seeing the jagged lightning, for how much less washing up there is when DH is away!,for finally finishing some items I was making (I constantly underestimate the time required to actually finish them off, yet every year I come back to do more!!!), for no longer having a leaking roof, for the fact that we mended the fence a few months ago so that now that next door's dog is growing into a large dog we don't have to worry about it pushing the fence down.Hugs, beanie xxNST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!9

Evening turtles, how quick did that weekend go?
Outside - Went to watch ds play footy. His team lost but he scored 2. He got in a grump as he thought he’d deserved the player of the match trophy. Told him he doesn’t need an award to make him realise how well he did and told him to remember the great feeling of scoring the goals was reward enough. He then quoted a line from his favourite movie ‘cars’ it’s just an empty cup! He cheered up after that! I Had a list of jobs outside to do but it was too wet so still on the to do list for next weekend.
Inside - Did the ironing, made homemade soup, helped ds practice his castle presentation and that’s it really. Still need a wardrobe cull.
Fun - Enjoyed watching ds match and nipping out to the shops browsing bargains for the home, love the big decorations for December but nowhere suitable to display them.
Food / alcohol - Healthy food maybe a bit too much bread and 1 glass of wine.
Read - No
Plan for December - Nothing here today. Except looking at decorations.
NSD - Not one today so still 11/15. Halloween bits bought. A few birthday cards for next month and an anniversary present. Will organise the pots to see what’s coming from where to cover it tomorrow.
MSE - Zapped my receipts for zip0.
Gratitude - The rain stopping before ds match, a lie in & finding a last minute Halloween outfit for ds.

Yes - another convert to scissors! - it is the way to go! 😁😁
Today's roast dinner involved a YS chicken frozen back in February..... Stick has already been made from the bones and DD has made sandwiches for 2 days at work with some of the meat and leftover stuffing ballsThe rest of the meat is in the fridge, along with the stock (I will take the fat/ dripping off the stock before freezing it and use it for cooking bubble n squeak)
Dinners have been planned for the rest of the week - tomorrow is leftover curry (DD made curry for dinner last night), Tues is fajitas, Weds is either Tinga or burgers, Thurs is lamb kofta in flatbreads with salad and Friday is chippy (chop shop chips but with pies from the freezer) Pretty much everything is in - I need to make rolls and maybe flatbreads and may need more salad. Lunches will be leftovers of roast chicken in baguette tomorrow and maybe the day after, or bubble and squeak and then fajita leftovers turned into quesadillas later in the week. There's plenty of bread products made/ being made and also cheese, ham, eggs and corned beef - oh, and also bacon in the freezer. There is fresh fruit, rocky Road (made today), apple crumble (made today) and strawberry ang*l delite (own brand) (the last one being for DS3 as he doesn't like RR or AC)
I finally broke up for half term on Friday - after DS2 and Ds3 had already been at home on half term. I am so ready for the week off!!!
Has been raining here a lot today. Did 2 loads of laundry yesterday and hung it out, so managed not to do one today - instead I have set the WM to come on at 6am tomorrow(DH will be up then and then I can get up to it being (almost) done - depending upon the time (59m cycle))
Thankful for a dry home, for yummy food, for seeing a squirrel running along the back fence, for crazy solar lights in the garden, for it being half term.I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £209 -

Had a lie in til 9, then did my yoga. Had a late breakfast & put the washing on the line. Didn't dry much as a damp air, despite there being a breeze. Washed the dishes, then put a chicken in to roast. Thought I'd fill the oven, so made a double quantity of sticky toffee pudding, some to eat, some to freeze. I've had the dates a very long time, so thought I'd use em up. Still got another pack left. Roasted veg afterwards, & it all tasted very nice 😋 prepped survey letters, then lay down for a half hour nap, only for my brother to phone. Washed the dishes whilst the boys had their baths, then my turn with a face mask & my book. DH has been told that if he continues to do well, he might be coming home mid-week!!
Grateful that DH is still doing well, time to read my book, the roast dinner turned out ok, my cousin's son passed the first part of army trainingUse it up, wear it out

Oh, I forgot! The big River company sent me an email with £5 off a £15+ spend. Ordered a board game I had on my wish list for sproutmas eve, to give the DS's. I had enough gift cards to get the game for free with the money off 😃Use it up, wear it out
