Mmmmmm pancakes!!
Evening turtles, here’s my update for today:
Outside - Nothing except cleaned the back door window inside & out. Nipped out to drop a card & gift to my sisters but went in the car.
Inside - Cleaned back door window and the track at the bottom.
Fun - Will be watching the footy later.
Food / alcohol - Quite healthy & no alcohol today.
Read - No
Plan for December - Tried a few tops on for girls night out to wear with black trousers to check I have something to wear.
NSD - Yes now 13/15
MSE - Now have a 0% BT offer so I know all my debt can be on interest free until DFD. Spurring me on to continue overpaying. Will complete tomorrow so I don’t lose my NSD today as there is a fee (I will pay this from my n/wide bribe). Also don’t have to buy a new outfit for girls night out. Checked my phone bill & £30 in credit so I have requested that back. That will help with the November deficit.
Gratitude - BT offer, something to wear for night out, mood slightly improved today. Refund from phone company.
Lightbulb moment - 17/08/2017 £17,033. Current CC debt £0.00 DFD 31/7/24 🥳. Member #8 of Fiver Friday Challenge £175/£26011 -
Hi dfw38, good luck with the marathon 🏃🏃🏃.Today I am grateful for getting to a gym class, for dc voluntarily doing a little school work, for 85% choc, for several penguins getting fur, for several snowmen getting bodies.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!9

Thanks @beanielou, have to self certify until Friday, then have a phone appointment with the doctor.
Re:SwagB surveys, I gave up. The amount of surveys I started but they stopped halfway through was so much compared to the amount I completed 😒 now do YouGov & Prolific Ac.

Great news yesterday - DH IS COMING HOME TODAY!!! 😍 Can't wait to have him back again. He reckons he's feeling fine & can't understand why I said I'd be off all term! Will see how things go & maybe return in a few weeks.
Yesterday I had great plans, started by altering a pair of shorts for a mend by mail company. Was quite stressed as it had a folded over seam & trying to tie it in with the seam already there with no invisible join gave me a headache! Decided that I have too much on, so even though the opportunity was good, I've said I need to concentrate on things here. Felt quite relieved after 😃. Read some of my book whilst waiting for the call about all my test results. Started prepping veg for tea, as DS1 had to have an early tea due to being on call. Eventually received the call. Most results were fine, but the isotope one didn't go along with what the blood test had said, so they want to re-test me in 6-9 months. Even though I'm not able to donate a kidney now (+ not needed to), they're still going to keep an eye on me, just in case this issue needs treatment.
Ended up nodding off in the bath for 20 mins, then couldn't sleep when I went to bed, so read a chapter of my book. Managed after that.
Grateful that DH is coming home, hug from DS3, the shorts are sewn & I've said no thanks to future jobs
Oops, thought I'd posted this, this morning!!Use it up, wear it out

Well done @Dfw38, we'll all be cheering you on from the sidelines & chaise longue! 🎉🥇
DH is now home - whoop whoop! Yes @beanielou he flew home, landed just before 5.30pm. All 3 DS's were waiting downstairs for him when he arrived, could see the big grin on his face through the window (I was parking the car). Made my heart sing ❤️ I cooked tea (had taken out ys burgers to defrost. Ended up dropping one down the back of the cooker half-cooked🤣) He's got LOTS of tablets to take, many for the rest of his life, & an appointment at our hospital tomorrow morning at 8.15, so an early start for us.
Did my yoga when I got up, eyes very sore due to not sleeping properly. Read my book whilst eating breakfast, then wrote my shopping list. Thought I'd do my big monthly shop this week, as we're running out of things & I've got 10% off at L1dl. Dropped things off in town, saw mum for half an hour (back to work today after having covid), then shopping I went. Got £25 off my shop 😍 some things were on offer, so I stocked up to use Nov & Dec, got the required chocolate man in red & a few other stocking fillers, so made the most of the discount. Took a couple more receipts to Rosco, from DS1's shipping, points now added & cash back from offers bought without using a clubcard. DS1 carried all the bags from the car +there were lots!), I put it all away. DS3 hoovered whilst I cleaned the bathroom, then I headed to the airport. Absolutely shattered, so heading to bed in a minute
Grateful for DH being home, DS's helping, lorry driver letting me cross the road to chase my shopping bag that's blown away in the wind & cross back before he drove off, & again DH being home 🥰Use it up, wear it out

@Thrifty_Taylor - fantastic news about your DH coming home so quickly!
@f0xh0les - hope your doctor is good with your DS and can help him with some treatment to start to feel better.
@lcc86 - Regarding prepping, anything is a help. Several turtles here live on islands or remote places and are used to stocking up in case the supply boat can't make it or they are snowed in. Think of it like getting a bit extra in for Christmas but not as tasty as pigs in blankets or trifle!
My friend in Germany is a serious prepper and always trying to get me to do it but then Germany is already experiencing shortages due to the Russian pipeline problems.
I've compromised by buying some extra dried food (lentils, porridge, rice), UHT milk, jam, glass-bottled water and tinned veg, fruit, meat, fish. I have enough for 2 for 4-5 days before we live on just rice and oats! If you have enough money/room then anything extra you put away in case you need it is worth it. My friend is storing gallons of bottled tap water to use for washing up, flushing the toilet, etc. but this is beyond my available storage space. She has a solar power pack strong enough to run her fridge or small appliances (although the test running of the washing machine was too much for it!).
I would also add medicines, candles, matches, a powerful torch/lantern.
You can always eat your food stores in the New Year if you haven't needed them.
Most importantly, don't get into a panic over it. Hopefully we will only get a few power cuts that don't last long.
Gratitudes: lovely meal out with my friend tonight after work, finding my destination without having to retrace my steps, my work colleague bringing in delicious samosas to celebrate Diwali, finishing work for this week.
