Glad to hear your dh is home and well @Thrifty_Taylor.
Thank you @Thrifty_Taylor, @thriftylass and @apple_muncher for your good wishes and support. Got a Dr check next month to make sure in tiptop condition just in case. Training starts Monday, super excited and am also looking forward to trainer shopping this week. Normally just buy stuff for other people so feel giddy with anticipation 😁. Thanks for your advice on stocking up @Esmeralda2662, I have some stuff in already but have added some of your ideas to a list of stuff to pick up today.
Grateful for the support on here (much more than real life unfortunately), my dc, a new challenge and that half term has been more relaxing than expected.

If anyone has any idea why I have written SWAHILI in my diary for today, can you let me know? as I am at a total loss.Off to London on the train today, for £ work tomorrow, after this there is only one more job to do this year that I have to travel for.DH seems to be getting a little frayed with doing the school run once a week.
It does him good to know exactly how much I do, while looking like I am reading, or listening to the radio......

Thrifty, that is such good news about DH. It's been such a whirlwind of a time for you, from the initial kidney failure to now. I second staying off all term!

Right have wrapped up budget for October, but need to be more grateful! For what I have, for what I have done, for what I will make happen next! I have had a few 'fails' this week, but then it's just straight back on the horse!
Went to visit uni boy ds2 yesterday and various activities did not work out, both boys were in a no kind of mood, so we defaulted to food, the one thing they agree on. But eventually they got their burgers in snazzy, history soaked, parlour style eatery. But what happened to my hoisin duck salad, it got stuck in the kitchen and never showed up. When I finally asked for it it had gone hard and cold, so I sent it back. Which I usually don't do, but boys were done eating by then, so I went to Gr3gs! Ds2 who lives in that city got two free b'day vouchers out of it, and I think the poor waiter was in for a bit of a talking to. We then finally decided to top up with a coffee, but they had just shut down the coffee machines, but offered a tea to go! Nice but not what I wanted. But all in all a nice afternoon, beautiful weather and while everybody behaved a bit treacle, it was fairly chilled.
To day is WFH - on my own projects, we call it CPD. Grateful for that.

Re:SwagB surveys, I gave up. The amount of surveys I started but they stopped halfway through was so much compared to the amount I completed 😒 now do YouGov & Prolific Ac.

Great news yesterday - DH IS COMING HOME TODAY!!! 😍 Can't wait to have him back again. He reckons he's feeling fine & can't understand why I said I'd be off all term! Will see how things go & maybe return in a few weeks.
Yesterday I had great plans, started by altering a pair of shorts for a mend by mail company. Was quite stressed as it had a folded over seam & trying to tie it in with the seam already there with no invisible join gave me a headache! Decided that I have too much on, so even though the opportunity was good, I've said I need to concentrate on things here. Felt quite relieved after 😃. Read some of my book whilst waiting for the call about all my test results. Started prepping veg for tea, as DS1 had to have an early tea due to being on call. Eventually received the call. Most results were fine, but the isotope one didn't go along with what the blood test had said, so they want to re-test me in 6-9 months. Even though I'm not able to donate a kidney now (+ not needed to), they're still going to keep an eye on me, just in case this issue needs treatment.
Ended up nodding off in the bath for 20 mins, then couldn't sleep when I went to bed, so read a chapter of my book. Managed after that.
Grateful that DH is coming home, hug from DS3, the shorts are sewn & I've said no thanks to future jobs

Great news, Thrifty, That was quick!
Hope your DS gets the help he needs from the doctor, f0xh0les.
Went to the Boys today and tidied up for him. One of these days I am going to have to go and organise his kitchen cupboards. They are even worse than mine. Will do his washing tomorrow. Too wet to get anything dried today.
Himself has decided we really don't have enough cupboard space so he's going to give some the the many CDs that he inherited from his brother to charity. We have cupboards full of them. I was wondering if anyone knows of any organisation that might like them. I know we could sell them but he doesn't want to.
So we're having meatloaf for dinner, Having a working oven is so exciting. You can see what a simple life I lead.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.10 -
Today I am grateful for a quiet day, for dc enjoying bouldering, for making snowman bodies, for the sunset, for still having blooms on my rosebush.
