Congratulations @f0xh0les! 🎉
Happy holidays @apple_muncher
Definitely get a taxi @grandmanerd, you need to take care of yourself & this will keep you germ-free.
NSD#3
Day 2 of flexible yoga, my muscles did groan. Walked to the postbox to post a fleabay sale, not home long & had another one - will post it tomorrow. DH loaded up the car & I off-loaded it at the dump, likely be another load to take another day. Had dinner & ready book, then trimmed more branches until the rain became too heavy. DS3 helped me put money into sinking funds envelopes & chatted about finances, etc. Had a nap, washed up after tea, then started headband #3. Finished my book in the bath.
Grateful for a lovely message from DS1, saying our chat had helped at the weekend, bingo next month with friends to look forward to, getting bits doneUse it up, wear it out

All the major supermarkets - Mr T's Mr L Mr A - are all hiring on their screens/ leaflets. DS1 announced that he wanted a job at supper last night. So that is a change from his usual vague I'll look for a job (singular) . Not sure he would make a good Santa yet @grandmanerd but I will suggest it to himThank you for all your lovely congratulatory messages!
I am quite chuffed.
Last day of school today before 9 days off from the school run - I will disappear from your Turtle Radars at the end of next week for t'other job.Tomorrow is the half way point in the month, so a good time to look back at your bank statements online, and see how much you actually spent on food in the first half of the month. Is it more than expected? Less than expected?I have heard a lot of people talking (in real life) about their slow cookers this month, can I remind you that a lot of charity shops sell second hand PAT (tested )electrical goods like slow cookers, coffee machines, irons etc. The going rate for a large slow cooker is sub £10. Apparently it is 'the thing' to cook your c-word cake in this year - who even knew?I am doing my tour of ten charity shops this morning, as dh has a dentist appt and will be in a rotten (he is terrified) mood until it is done, and then feeling sorry for himself afterwards, knowing he will have to go back next week to get whatever it is that needs doing, done. Bonkers system we have with dentists here -one appointment to agree there is something wrong, then another appointment to do the job. Still, All the Gods Bless the NHS and all who sail in her. Bonkers-ness and all4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Morning all!
Thanks @apple_muncher, @weenancyinAmerica, @f0xh0les for the tips re NSDs. I'll have to revisit the rules!
I feel like writing this week off as it really has been horrendous but I know that would just lead to me throwing caution to the wind and blowing money I can't afford to blow! So, I will not repeat history, I will learn from the past and rest and pledge for today;
Outside I will get out for a walk with pooch today
Inside
Fun I'm going to a sound bath
Food/Drink I will eat one healthy meal
Read I will listen to Mo Gawdat "Solve for happy"
Plan 4 Dec I will not spend any money other than on the sound bath which will mean more for xmas spends
Gratitudes DD2 coming with me to sound bath for 1st time, cuddle from OH, cuddles with pooch this am
Yoga/Meditation I will meditate for 20 mins at the least. Bodybalance tonight.
Spending NSD 1/10. Will defo check the rules re NSDs so hopefully this will start to creep up really soon.
TGIF!

@hazeldreams - if you are missing out on NSDs for small amounts, next week take out £5/10, put it in a separate purse /pocket and have that as a 'miscellaneous''budget - if you are missing out because of the odd £2 parking, or bottle of milk, or other sub £2 spends, and they are forcing you into a shop, and lets face it, that is the danger zone, once you are in, try with your 'emergency float' - physical money is harder to spend than a wave of the card . Everyone has a horrendous week every now and then, the nice thing is, that the week only lasts a week, and a new week can start on any weekday.Unplanned things come your way all the time, don't give up.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Morning turtles
i’m still on NSD 2... oh the shame. But it is for a good reason as I booked flights to Munich for the Christmas markets in December which is a dream come true.
today won’t be nsd either as I am going to a concert... then Mallorca next week, it’s an expensive month, I just have to make sure I’m within budget. Will check to see if I’m on track this weekend, thanks f0xh0les.

Morning, I was feeling down in the dumps yesterday - really fed up, gave myself a good talking to and a slice of victoria sponge. Got off my bottom and listed some items in v1nt3d and sold 2 of them! Only £6 but will add that to my debt overpayment.
Hoping for a nsd day today. Hope you all have a lovely afternoon.2024 decluttering Campaign

Hi, I’ll come back with a proper update later but just a quick question - We are with EDF and receive a bill every 6 months. It’s always massively in credit. My current one is £740 in credit & they want to increase it to £398 per month from £300.Does anyone have a monthly actual readings bill and if so who is your provider please and are you on a smart meter or just provide monthly readings? I just want to pay the correct amount each month now for actual usage.

Busy but fun day today at work, am enjoying my new role. I did spend £3 on a coffee which I KNOOOOOOOW is not the turtle way. In my defence I was knackered after boxing yesterday, and I have ordered a little metal bottle so that I can bring my own milk to work in future but am still waiting for it to arrive. I definitely don't have a daily coffee buying habit so I know £3 isn't the end of the world but it's not something I want to become the norm.
Also I broke my retainer today, I planned to get a new one in November anyway so will need to bring that forward and get one ASAP!10 -
Today I am grateful for a super journey to Penzance, for dc going off happily with the school group, for being near the sea, for a fab place to stay in, for 85% choc as ever.
