Happy birthday @f0xh0les jnr, it is also my DS3's birthday today, he's 14.
@ldee2111, glad you enjoyed your time in school. That's how I started off, started volunteering when DS3 went to nursery, & now I'm a Support for Learning Assistant. I love it, & find it very rewarding 😃
Pottered inside all day, due to torrential rain outside. Got the cake decorated & a couple of weeks letters logged & more prepped for the RM survey.
Went to town to my drop off point to collect 4 lots of sewing jobs - added to the ones I've already got, this week I will be very busy!! Went to visit mum, she tested positive this morning. Had some left over cake mix last night, so had cooked it in a small tin. Decorated it for her & said it was a covid cake. She was chuffed. Also gave her her sproutmas gift early, an oversized fleece hoodie, to help with her feeling cold, etc. She doesn't put the heating on often, so should keep her cosy. Went & got a takeaway from the chipenese (chip shop & Chinese) for tea. Watched a film with DH & did more knitting. Now onto headband #4 😃
Grateful for mum feeling a bit better now she's tested positive, DS3 having a good day, pretty fairy lights wrapped round the trees in front of the cathedralUse it up, wear it out

Thanks for your reviews on the long hot water bottles @BadBookkeeper and @lcc86! Nice to hear from someone that actually uses one!
Managed to get in at hairdressers this morning as she had a cancellation as a customer was poorly and couldn't go. Not used to my new 'big' hair she's done me but it won't look the same once i wash it!
Took mum with me so that we could look round the old town as it's where i used to live/work. 5 minutes over on free parking so will be sweating now for a few weeks waiting to see if i get a parking fine. I hope not as i can't afford it. Fingers crossed.
Started to watch a dvd tonight but ended up asking if i could be bothered to watch it to the end. Answer: No. Another one for the CS.
No NSD so still on 4 i think.
Hoping it won't rain overnight as mum and i want to carboot tomorrow. It's the penultimate one so possibly last chance to buy any bargains.

Happy Sunday - I am not happy this morning, I am supposed to go on a day out but now I think there is a risk associated and I don't know if I want to go. Sorry to be a bit unspecific. Good bit is I have a new unit for landing am just painting it and repotting plant and then I might share a photo.
I will do inside and outside today and make some healthy food :-)
Update - we went and all went well.Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%
Emergency fund: 100/1000 10%

Thanks for the encouragement, f0xh0les. It's much appreciated.
All the aches and pains, etc stayed away but by lunchtime I was hit with massive tiredness so I didn't do anything physical and was back in bed after dinner at 6.00pm. Had a great, long, deep sleep last night.
But I didn't waste the day entirely, Did the budget, made a list of goals (daily, short, medium and long term) and ordered some gifts for Himself and the Boy and cards for Sproutmas. Most importantly I ordered my 2023 diary. A girl must have a diary for her handbag.
So, once Himself, gets up I must go to Aldi. Need chicken to make Thai curry for dinner and a couple of other things. Veg to make soup (of course)
Hope everyone who is a bit poorly feels better and you all have a lovely Sunday.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.12 -
Grateful that I bought a mid year diary when I couldn't find my proper one. Found the original but now it's decided to fall apart (it's an A5 hardback), spine has peeled half off and it's tatty besides.8

@apple_muncher we used to holiday in Mousehole as a child, it was great! Much less touristy than St Ives although it's also beautiful there.
Had a very early start today to go horse riding. Woke up in much less back pain than I was yesterday but still sore. Decided not to let it stop me enjoying my ride although I was sore at the end. Popped to the supermarket to get the sweet potatoes I needed to finish this week's batch cooking and got that done.
Went to see my sister quickly and give her some things of hers that my mum had. Then I popped to my local aquatics shop to get a few fish. I budgeted for this as part of this month's spends, came in at about half of what I budgeted so will keep the rest for whenever I next go down there in a few months' time.
Got a load of washing on, have cleaned the kitchen and bathroom, just need to have a bath and then I'm ready to settle in for the night.9 -
Today I am grateful for doing loads and loads of walking, for a lovely hot shower after all the walking, for the adventure of going over the causeway before it was really ready and then squelching around Mount St Michael, for UK's strongest Man being on telly at 7 tonight.

Well that was a tense day of football 1st at ds match & then on tv this afternoon!
Outside - DS scored twice in todays game so that has lost me my NSD but so worth it! Bit of bad behaviour from a grandparent on the other team which spoilt the win for us. Wanted to put the cover on the outside table but it was covered in cobwebs, water and leaves so I’ve laid it out and should be ok once dried.
Inside - Did the ironing
Fun - Watching footy. Helped ds swap lots of footy cards via Fb.
Food / alcohol - Made soup for week & healthy food but finishing yesterdays bottle of wine.
Read - Nothing today.
Plan for December - Nothing here today
NSD - no so still 8/15
MSE - Made soup, filled fabric softener empty bottle with water and used in the iron. It was a tip I’d read on here somewhere to replace buying ironing water which seems to have disappeared from shelves.
Gratitude - Ds scoring twice, Our premier league team winning an important match, lovely parents of ds friends they have become an important part of our lives.
Lightbulb moment - 17/08/2017 £17,033. Current CC debt £0.00 DFD 31/7/24 🥳. Member #8 of Fiver Friday Challenge £175/£2608 -
Today was dull, really really dull. It went something like this......Got up, put a load of laundry on, had breakfast and nipped down to the train station to get train tickets to the NORTH on Thursday for work (will be reimbursed as expenses), I have arranged to meet a friend on Thursday night after setting up the venue, not seen her for 6 years, it will be fab. Put laundry out and laundry on, watched The 9am Politics, then cleaned and hoovered the top floor and changed the bedding, put laundry out and laundry on then cleaned and hoovered the middle floor - gave DS2 his clean bedding and told him to do it himself. Brought laundry 1 and 2 in. Put another laundry out and another laundry on. Cleaned the bathrooms, put laundry out and laundry on. Hoovered the stairs and landings. Got to the bottom step and lovely DH said he was making the lunch today. Yay!Then cut up the enormous brown box DS3s new bike came in (a gift from beyond from S/G - from me really) with a Stanley knife, and filled 3 recycling bags with cardboard and put it outside. The hall is clear now - still need to take a few broken machines to the recycling centre - did you know you can recycle domestic electrical appliances in the foyer of The Orange DIY Warehouse Store? Well you can! Yep, that is how dull today has been.Half watched a couple of football matches (Klopp got sent to the naughty step!), then cleared the fridge of all of the leftovers, and heated them, so everyone got to pick a plate, and then they filled up the gaps with cheese and tomato toasties (aka Brexit Pizza
).
Then an underwire broke through and stabbed me in the armpit in protest at how boring it found my day. Though it was technically a NSD, my underwear is still heckling me.It is half term proper tomorrow, which I am still finding exciting as a concept. I have written a list of what I need to do and where I need to go, made a tiny shopping list, menu planned, and as I am the mistress of my own time, not constrained by school runs and mealtimes, I am aiming to blitz my list early on, as I might have my new work schedule by this time next week - which is exciting!!Gratitudes: the house looks better now it is 2/3's clean, a sunny day to dry my massive pile of laundry, arranging to meet the friend I left behind next week, and for having a plan.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Get well soon @Toni'sfriend. I too have bought my diaries for next year - one for my handbag, one my bedside journal 😍
NSD#4
Did yoga very quietly as DS3 asleep on the settee in the living room & his friend asleep in DS bed. Managed not to disturb either of them 😃 went for a walk after breakfast, a few light showers but nothing we couldn't handle. Saw a couple of rainbows.
Had the remains of my Chinese from last night reheated for my dinner, then got my sewing machine out, first time since before my hospital trip. Replaced a zip & the velcro on a coat. Did some knitting & watched TV. Washed the dishes after tea. Now waiting for my turn in the bath, then thinking I'll stay up until DS1 returns from his trip @12.00am.
Grateful for a breezy walk, starting to work my way through my huge sewing pile, that DS will be home soon, nice message from a friendUse it up, wear it out
