Today I am grateful for DC being much better, for the A3 guillotine + white pens arriving which spurred dc on to do some arty stuff, for mowing the front and chatting to some neighbours and pulling up some of the rampant passion flower for them and planting lots of daffodil bulbs, for going to the gym first thing before my brain could engage and procrastinate and postpone going.

Long day today, woke up at 5 after a weird nightmare and couldn't get back to sleep. Got up at 6, got ready and cycled partway to work then got the train, was in by 8, haven't been in that early for a while. Shorter commute definitely pays off sometimes!
Lots of back and forth and meetings, definitely got my steps in. I did buy OH a birthday card and a little bath pampering box as well, he does manual work and never looks after himself so I'm hoping this will prompt him to do so even once in a while as he enjoyed a spa when we went on holiday in summer.
OH put the heating on briefly earlier to dry out some of his work clothes but other than that we've been lucky in not having to have it on. Our flat is south facing so normally if you can make it through the morning it warms up in the afternoon. We suffer in the summer though!

Good luck for your interview @f0xh0les.
Sending hugs to those who are ill, or have ill family members.
My head was only vaguely aching today & sniffles nearly gone, so really just the cough now. Mum said she's started coughing, so I might've shared it with her 😒
I've also got a heated airer, it is in our living room, which is very compact, & heard it quite well. Never bothered buying the cover for it, if you'd like something like that, I'm sure a duvet cover would work just as well!
Forgot to say yesterday that I'd won a dvd in a competition, no idea which film but hope I like it!
Received a reply to the email I sent yesterday re appealing a parking fine. I do have to pay it, but noticed that if paid with 14 days, it's £30 not £60, so did that.
Did some YWA flexibility routine, I knew my hips were stiff, but shocked at how much! Will have to try to do this routine regularly, I'm nearly 47, but move like my mum who's 65!!
Spent the morning cleaning, read some of my book whilst eating dinner, then uncovered a cable for DH to put a protective pipe cover round before we bury it again, & trimmed lots of branches for the compost bin & firewood. Phoned the Dr to see if they'd discovered any paperwork re our insurance claim, they had but not done anything about it! Informed it'd be done before the end of the week. Had a nap before tea. Washed the dishes after & finished knitting a headband for a sproutmas present.
Grateful for 2of1ora smells (think it was Twilight Garden), doing jobs outside, feeling a bit better, 🐿️ tales 😃Use it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

NSD#3 so i'm pleased with that.
Busy day at work but that's it for me now until Monday. Another lad is leaving as his section has had no work for about 3 months. He's going onto a better job so that's good. Hope my section remains busy, especially with food and utility prices going up so much.
Mum took my sister and i out for a pub meal last night as we hardly ever get together without kids and grandkids in tow. Lovely food and nice to catch up with each other.
Friend has semt me details of a local village craft and food fair in December. Sounds nice but depends if i'm able to go. Love these crafty type fairs.
OH having his covid booster in the morrning. I've postponed mine until after my hospital appointment next week as the first covid jab gave me crippling stomach pains. In fact i think my stomach problems started after that.
Gratitudes: lovely meal and get-together last night, no work now till Monday, my new to me reading book which i'm really enjoying.

Good luck @f0xh0les! Update for yesterday:
Outside: just the tip run.
Inside: trying to maintain order in this chaotic house.
Fun: sat downstairs night at the sewing machine and worked on a couple of projects for my kids c-day presents. Not finished yet but hoping to finish by Sunday.
Food: we have all had a week that has been blah so far so I decided to just cook everyone's favourites. 3 different dinners but worth it for smiles, empty plates and happy tummies.
Read: nothing yet, hoping to get a good book from the library, sad to hear of Angela Lansbury's passing.
Plan 4 Dec: decided on 2 crafting projects that I I not going to bother doing. I normally make 1 thing for Xmas, last year it was placemats, but I don't feel like making anything like that this year. Will see if I change my mind.
Nsd: nope, school wanted another lot of school trip money 🙄
Mse: washing dried on the line and food eaten from stores.
Gratitude: grateful I managed to get the washing in before it was too wet from being rained on. For my kids playing nicely together when I sat them down and told them that they were both having a tough time at school, so be kinder to each other at home and for new bluey episodes that I can watch with my youngest dc.
Hope you all have a lovely day and that everyone who feels poorly is feeling better soon.

Sending love to all poorly turtles.
I didn’t check in yesterday. It was a bank holiday here and they do a military parade and fly past. We went up to a terrace on the 26th floor of a hotel in the plaza de España to see if we could get a good view. And we did. Although the planes weren’t directly overhead it was great to see them approach from a distance and was actually quite peaceful and majestic!!
After that we went to a museum as all were free ans saw an exhibition which displayed Chanel dresses with Picasso art. Also saw some hyper realistic paintings which were insanely good.
then we ended up in an old sherry bar which I’d never been in. The bar is so old you can’t take photos inside as it damages the wallpaper. Bf was at a football match later so I had some time to myself to write and watch some videos that are part of a course I’m doing. All in all a great day.
Grateful for doing some new things and feeling like a tourist again, for good weather (hope it lasts until my hols later in the month) and for a video chat with my dad.Student loan £5655

Hope the interview goes well, f0xh0les.
I had a lovely surprise yesterday. The Boy arrived with a smart TV which he had bought me as a present for doing bits and pieces of housework, etc for him. We've been thinking of buying one for ages as Himself has really bad eyesight and was finding ours a bit difficult to see. A very happy bunny watching the football on a bigger screen with a clear picture last night. Not so sure he was happy with the result though.
.
Got lots ticked off my list and started moving things in readiness for the oven man coming on Wednesday. Got a rather bizarre text about that. They wanted me to measure something that made no sense to me at all so I told them the salesman had all the information, had double checked it and confirmed that everything was OK. They then replied saying they hoped they had answered my queery. Don't know what that was about. I didn't have a queery.
Anyway, Covid and Flu jabs this morning so I'd better go get ready and try and rouse Himself.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.9 -
T hank you, you lovely Turtle-friends for all your good wishes for the interview, it went well, I was in a room chatting with a strange man, what could possibly go wrong?Anyway, left there just after 10, and was told they had a few people to interview, went off and filled food parcels, and had a phone call by 12.15 offering me the job. Hooray!I have to start thinking about NI contributions and pensions and all that grown up stuff stay-at-home-mums are forced to think about when the youngest child hits secondary school age. Anyway, job done, I have a guaranteed minimum 16 hours a week until the end of January with plenty of overtime available. Whoop Whoop! I am a Christmas Worker. Plus it is Tee K Max!4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!
