Today I am grateful for dc going to school, for waterproofs and brollies, for finding an OS map of Penzance for the coming weekend, for getting some paperwork rewritten (grr to management demands), for dh being more on board with me resigning form my job at the end of the school year, for my knitting, for 85% chocolate.

Evening turtles
Looooooong day at work and it's only Monday! But after much frustration it ended with a positive meeting.
Went for a walk this morning with my friend's dog in the rain. Was going to cycle to my friend's house beforehand but the rain was lashing down so I took the car. Kind of glad now as I'm super achey in my muscles so a rest day is in order.
Got a £250 cheque from my car insurance company following my complaint to the ombudsmen about my ongoing claim. They've refused to give regular updates however because they're too busy so I'm not sure how I'm ever meant to know what's going on with it, that was one of the main reasons behind my complaint in the first place... anyway I paid the cheque in on my app and will wait for it to clear. Will probably put that money towards my MOT in January.
Small spend on some eggs but nothing else.10 -
@grandmanerd - Sorry to hear you still feel poorly. Hope you feel better soon.
NSD2 (or 3) so that's a bonus. No newspapers left in village shop. Managed to avoid buying sweets and top up shopping.
Have somehow switched predictive text off on my phone and no idea how to restart it. Will research it on the web.
Boss loudly announced i'd got 3 jobs to do today, then listed them in order. A few 'ooh' comments from colleagues which made me feel uncomfortable as i'm only part time and don't want to be teacher's pet.
Pills and powders arrived to prep for colonoscopy next week. Not a grand day out but necessary!
Niece has invited mum and i out with her, her mum and toddler for a prosecco cream tea for her birthday in Nov. Also invited to her house that weekend for a birthday takeaway.
When my friend visited yesterday we were looking at amateur shows and films at local theatres. The mousetrap film and 39 steps are coming and i'd like to see Rich 3rd film too. Also doing a Terry Pratchett play early '23 so might treat my friend for her birthday.
Gratitudes: a blue sky from my office window, the thought of some nice entertainment coming up, another NSD day.

@Esmeralda2662 your cream tea sounds great fun to look forward to! Hope your appointment next week goes ok.
I looked at the moon & Jupiter as I walked up the long pier to my car last night. It was spectacular!
When I opened the curtains this morning, there was a massive rainbow over our garage.
Haven't done a lot today, still feeling rough. Unpacked my bag, listened to Popmaster, then this afternoon I've been knitting & binge watched a series on TV. Tonight I've photographed all the receipts from my trip for the different receipt apps, then entered the figures into my budget planner.
Grateful for rainbows, a cosy fire, time to knitUse it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

Sending healing vibes to grandmanerd and thrifty.
I think I am still on NSD 2. Today should be NSD 3 although it is a bank holiday here tomorrow so we might be feeling naughty later.
Yesterday I felt super tired before lunch. My weights class at lunch sorted me out and I felt much better after. Although I got away without a hangover after the wedding I think the late night and slobbing on the sofa all weekend didn’t help. Feeling better today.
meditation done. No MPs today (did yesterday) and haven’t been reading before bed. Will do tonight.
grateful for a day off tomorrow, for cosy socks and good food.Student loan £5655

Monday NSD 3Wfh yesterday. Spent lunchtime trying to get a better deal with vRGin for Mum. She had a tv, broadband, phone package which was £69 pm and had been trying to get them down. Best they offered was £54… still too high for her so she cancelled hoping they’d give her a better offer. Nope. She was cut off. I spoke to a helpful guy in retentions and got her existing package for £33 (18 months) and reconnection fee waved. Could they not have saved us all the hassle and offered that a few weeks ago?! Anyway she can now keep in touch with our family in Australia and she’s happy.Grateful for being able to save mum hundreds on her vrgn package, attend PTA at DS’s school, and for getting to know more parents and teachers.

Changed the bedding and all the washing done and dried now. Will do the little bit of ironing that needs done later. Got everything on my list that I wanted to do yesterday done. Loads still needing done but I'm prioritising day by day so I'll make today's must do list later.
The lentil soup was lovely despite Himself turning off the slow cooker half way through. Luckily I noticed before too much damage was done. He's taking my efforts to save electricity to heart. I found him trying to read in almost darkness yesterday afternoon. He can't even see to read when the lights are on! I've had to have a word and tell him we won't be bankrupt if he switches the lights on.
So, preparations for December and the winter. We looked out all our torches and checked they are working (in case of power cuts) and ordered a supply of batteries and candles. Tested the heating and it's fine. Just occurred to me that I should check the medicine cabinet so I'll put that on today's list. I suppose we should try and get some salt or grit for the paths around the block as they always freeze and the council never grit them. They are positively dangerous. I think I'll speak to my very practical young neighbour and suggest we organise a bulk buy that we can all contribute towards. He has to contacts to get it. Ordered some books for Himself as gifts.
So, off today to order the replacement oven and freezer. I've had a look on the store's website and have an idea of what I'm looking for.
Better get on with it.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.8 -
Morning,
Hope you're starting to feel better thrifty and grandmanerd.
Outside Enjoyed a lovely walk in the sunshine with the pooch at the hills we have right on our doorstep. We're super lucky. I'll do the same again today. Plan to clear up all the leaves and conkers and clean the car today.
Inside Not much.
Fun Nope.
Food/Drink Still not drinking enough water - need to address this today.
Read No, but listening to Dave Ramsey's podcasts again.
Plan 4 Dec Agreed we'd have everyone round for Xmas dinner to ours on the premise that everyone cooks something at theirs and brings it with them
Gratitudes annual leave to prioritise house stuff and winter prep.
Yoga/Meditation Still not done any meditation at home. Really out of my routine at the moment.
Spending Still on only NSD 1/10. How on earth did we run out of butter when we'd planned everything so meticulously!! TODAY WILL BE NSD 2!!!
Have a great day all!

Messaged my niece yesterday to let her know I can't do Thursday's meeting (my brother can't be in the same room as anyone with a cough or cold) and see if a video session would work. She messaged back later - she didn't see my brother last Friday as her bf was going down with something and now she's suffering too, so my brother can't be anywhere near either of us. So my week just got simpler and I don't need to push myself into doing the accounts with a cotton wool stuffed head.
Think I'll be missing Art class for the third week running (too wobbly to get down the stairs yet, may have to eat dry crispbread again) although I'd like to get to the library and let them know why I'm missing. Think I need a break from the laptop as my eyes are sore so today I have decided I'm going to enjoy being ill. I make an effort to get things done, even when most of my body isn't working terribly well. Sometimes it's such a relief to say 'I'm ill', give in to it and rest.
The bins need to go out (fairly full already and DS3 will take them to the end of the backs for collection). Won't be a tragedy if I can't get more out. If I can take clean dry pots out of the DW and do something with the washing (draped on chairs in the yard?) that would be great. Work out how to feed myself for the day (rummage through the fridge for anything easy - yesterday's ice lolly and sorbet were great and the tinned stuff wasn't bad, cheese triangles and any remaining salad bits).
I prescribe lots of reading, possibly some gentle sewing and sorting (3 bags of paper out over the past few days. I'm being more ruthless with 'stuff'. I hate throwing out anything with 'use' left in it but there has to be a limit on how long to keep things - some mum items I can use but over years not weeks. Lots of dozing, try to organise the lists of what needs to be done. I want to write a couple of letters to people I like (rather than the ghosts of gf past).
Grateful for time to rest, easy food, having half a plan (just no get up and go for the execution of plans atm). Just keep plodding, make progress slowly and prevent the avalanche of chaos descending.9 -
