@apple_muncher - as long as you didn't see a neighbour mooning!
@Toni'sfriend - sorry to hear about your freezer meltdown.
@Thrifty_Taylor - so sorry to hear you've caught covid again, especially while away from home. Wishing you a speedy recovery.
@firsview - hope your new feline friend soon settles in and realises which side his bread is buttered! Thank goodness you found him in the bushes!
2 bags to CS and 1 to shoebox appeal. Packed saucepans in car to drop off with DS. Gave friend a bag of mags that we'd been given and read. Glad to pass them on and she was pleased.
Went to carboot this morning with mum and it was lovely once the sun came out. Her arm ached after i took her for her covid jab yesterday but she just got on with it. I got some goodies and mum got a cauli!
Mum bought a lovely kit from the CS to knit a little angel to go on the tree. Although it was sealed, everything was in there except the instructions! Luckily i've found them on the internet so need to get a copy printed out.
My friend came over this afternoon as she was feeling down. She did some sewing and i did drawing while we chatted and had tea and cake. She told me about trying to make her own haybox for cooking in (rather than buying one for £120) and she'd got a veggie stew finishing in it this afternoon. Heard later it had worked so that's good. Hopefully will save her a few pounds on her utility bills.
Ironed my work clothes for the week. Meant to make soup for work lunches but ran out of mojo. Did however walk to shop to buy onions to make it.
Gratitudes: lovely sunny day, finding angel knitting instructions, spending time with my mum and my friend.

So sorry to hear you have Covid again Thrifty Taylor, I hope you are snuggled back at home soon and able to get lots of rests and fluids. Wishing you a speedy recovery. x
Firsview, so jealous of your new kitty, hope they settle in soon.
Toni's Friend, so sorry about your freezer.
Movers are supposed to be turning up first thing this morning. We have been completely overwhelmed by the amount of stuff we have and I am so glad we are as minimalist as we are. Even so we found 3 random paperwork boxes in the teeny attic behind the D-Day decorations that had been completely forgotten about and covered in a thick dust layer. Yesterday was spent moving things about pointlessly, trying to corral our stuff.
Outside - spent some time in the garden while it was sunny.
Inside - So much stuff and dust everywhere!
Fun - Some joking around whilst packing.
Food - Made time to eat, and it was a particularly good food day as I had a lovely second breakfast with OH. I am waking up stupidly early at the moment so had a small first breakfast and then we cooked second breakfast almost at lunchtime. Always a good thing in my book, apart from the obvious fact that I am a couple of stone overweight. I was probably a hobbit in a previous life as it's all about the home comforts here, especially while I am moving house and spending time at the hospital.
Read - I know where my book is and plan to read while waiting for keys, deliveries and the removal guys to arrive.
P4D - La la la, I'm not listening~!
Technically it was an NSD but not sure I can count anything reliably at the moment.
Gratitudes: our lovely current house being so homey, second breakfast, garden sunshine and Strictly.10 -
Hope you feel better soon @Thrifty_Taylor
Update for yesterday:
Outside - It was a bit rainy today. Did have a wander around town & a quick look at the stormy waves. Went in the hot tub twice!
Inside - Found a cosy pub for lunch & another bar later to watch the footy.
Fun - It was our wedding anniversary so treated ourselves to lunch out which was lovely. Watched the footy although our team lost so wasn’t fun to watch! Watched toy story dvd in the evening all cosy in the caravan after being in the hot tub in the rain!
Food / alcohol - Yes plenty of both
Read - Still haven’t read my expensive magazines!
Plan for December - Nothing here.
NSD - Bit spendy today. But only 1 round of drinks came out of my budget.
MSE - Nothing here.
Gratitude - Another lovely family day, in a lovely part of the world.
Will update for today later.

Morning all,
This weekend has been crazy busy and my routine has gone completely out of the window! It doesn't happen very often though so I'm just going to get back on it today.
Outside Nowhere near enough over the last few days. Need to prioritise this today.
Inside Tested the central heating. Bled and rebalanced all the rads. So pleased to have gotten this ticked off the list.
Fun Yes! Finally! DH and I went for a curry on Friday night and for brunch with DD2 on Saturday. Not very MSE but really enjoyable. So glad we did both things. We have really missed our meals out.
Food/Drink The date night did result in me having alcohol but I was sensible and didn't overdo it. I also managed 2 chocolate-free days last week, so again really pleased about that. The 2L of water a day has slipped though so I do need to sort that out.
Read None - need to get back on this too.
Plan 4 Dec I have started the process of switching 2 current a/cs (one of DH's and one of mine) that we never use to N'wide. I set up 2 charity DD's on each before applying for the switch (thanks to whoever suggested doing that btw!) as I really don't want to leave first direct. I've also found them really good. I was planning to use the money towards Xmas, but we have a break booked for November for just hubby and me, that needs paying for soon. We were going to cancel it to save the £'s but now I'm tempted to use the £400 towards that. Not very MSE though is it? How do you all decide when to prioritise your marriage and a spend vs MSE and longer-term goals. I think I'll always struggle with this!
Gratitudes Date night, brunch with DD2, and finally sorting out the rads!
Yoga/Meditation Been at every yoga/bodybalance class at the gym since Friday, so really pleased with that. May have a break today though as I'm a little achy. No meditation for days though. Must get back to this too!
Spending Still on only NSD 1/10. TODAY WILL BE NSD 2!!!
Have a great day all!

Hope you're feeling better, Thrifty.
I got most of the washing done but the weather was awful so it had to be dried indoors. Most of it was light stuff and has dried overnight but what hasn't is now outside on the washing line. The rest is in the machine and once Himself finally gets out of bed I'll change the bedding and get that done too.
My to do list is a mile long. The disruption of buying new appliances and getting them delivered/installed is so stressful. I think I'm going to have to enlist the help of my younger neighbours to help me move things. But I have a plan. The house is going to be in total chaos but it's a good opportunity to eventually get a bit of organisation around here.
So at last I'm going to make a pot of lentil soup to use up some carrots and celery and calm me down.
Have a good day.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.9 -
By Jupiter and the moon, it was bright out there last night.
I am now in a place where I just paid myself to write for an hour, that felt really odd. But I have started my grant, and I am logging my activities hour by hour to make sure I am holding myself accountable! I did get lost for an hour, but finally got in touch with an almost local recumbent bike man/dealer and it was super interesting. Hope to go and have a look over half term.
I was supposed to 'work' 3 hours this morning, but only managed 1! I am hoping this will increase my overall productivity!
I feel my auto correct is on steroids'. I am not quite sure where some of the words it is coming up with came from!

Not feeling great but my WM 'quick fix' worked and that has been loaded up and set off and DS3 got the DW to work (I loaded it yesterday). I've eaten tinned rice pudding and tinned mandarins, drank a cup a soup (what I thought was cup a soup was dried peas but found one loose on the counter. Ready to go and find my next offerings (raspberry sorbet, I think - I'm alternating between freezing and boiling up) and do a couple more bits whilst I'm down there.
Grateful for tins, tin openers (electric one and a 'good grips' type), more room in the fridge, a working WM and DW.8 -
As promised this morning, here is my update:
Outside - In and out all afternoon putting washing out. It hasn’t dried great so all brought in now. Washed 4 loads, should have stopped at 3! Will aim to have a sort out & tidy in the garden this weekend. Went for a walk to post box & to buy my parents a box of biscuits as a thanks for money they gave us for a meal whilst we were away.
Inside - Spent some time helping DS with his homework today as he’s off school. Really enjoyed the building a 3d model of a castle. He used Lego.
Fun - Lego!
Food / alcohol - Very naughty! DH has to go out with work so DS and I ordered food in. Big waste of money! No alcohol.
Read - Have an online committee meeting tonight so still haven’t got to my magazine!
Plan for December - Nothing here today.
NSD - Bought takeaway, postage & biscuits so still on 5/15 (I think).
MSE - Applied for the NW switch £200. I’m hoping I’ve done it correctly. Budgets checked against balance and outgoings still to be paid. All on track.
Gratitude - Lego, a dry day & a day off work to get straight!
