Interesting they still refund bags on delivery saver, but Morrisons not long after I signed up to it have bumped the price of it. I probably wont renew it, as I considered the saving only after some thought of the trade off me been locked into using them to get value out of it,. as well as paying up front.0

However, any suggestion that Aldi is somehow exceptional in the rate its prices are increasing ,or that it is no longer one of the cheapest (if not the cheapest) supermarkets to buy from seems quite wide of the mark.
Since this is no longer possible and people now need to consider the prices of individual items, the shopping experience becomes much closer to that of the traditional supermarkets - but with less choice, longer queues and none of the frills.
The price rises at other supermarkets may be just the same in monetary terms but they don't fundamentally change the way people need to shop.

However, the fact remains that for many items these two stores still offer considerable savings over a basket of shopping, even if, as a marketing tool, their rivals have priced a few items against them.
Yesterday, for example I was costing the ingredients for my Christmas cake against several of the stores versus Aldi. I may not be able to get everything I need there, but there is absolutely no doubt which is the cheapest!4 -
It seems that all supermarkets are having the same mindset. £4 for a box of cereal?! It's shocking. They even sent an email out saying about spending £40 and get 5p off your petrol...so you'd only probably be able to get about 5 items, and you're set. What is the economic world coming to0

Paracetamol is £1 a box now, it feels like yesterday they were 1/5 the price.1

I was shopping yesterday and saw some at the tills for 59p. I bought a couple of packets thinking "ooh that's only tripled, I best buy some while they're cheap!"
In what world does that last bit make sense.....?!I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.2 -
