What I do not find is that Sainsbury's is cheaper or equal in price, shop for shop - not for the things I buy. For once, I agree with Which? in fact.

I now shop at Sainsbury's, who price match Aldi, have cheaper reduced items (Aldi is only 30% max), hand out free plastic bags, more choice, wider aisles, toilets, and generally a much less crowded and stressful shop to than Aldi. I came out with a tonne of reduced items with some price matched stuff the other day and spent way less than Aldi. Better quality veg and meat too!
Ps. Agree about Morrisons prices, but also the Co op is becoming more.exoensive than Waitrose!
BTW. Took a trip to Morrison's the other day and they have hiked up pretty much everything massively. I walked out without buying a single thing!
Popped into a large Sainsburys on my way home from work late on Friday - 8pm is usually a good time but not on this occasion, nothing to be had in the f&v and bakery and little in the chiller cabinet. I consoled myself by stocking up on vino which is again on a 25% promotion for 6 bottles or more.
No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.0 -
We have started using Tesco home delivery instead of fighting the masses in Aldi on a Saturday morning.
But ive got from being able to get 91 items on the monthly shop for the same price I can now get 78 (same items or there abouts). And have just have notification that tonight's delivery won't have any mince or chicken on it as it's out of stock..... Which I highly doubt and that means I will still have an empty freezer drawer.
Previously Tried to top up in Morrisons but found they were expensive and shelves were often empty.
We top up in Sainsbury's and even with Aldi price match we find it's expensive for what we get. But it's convenient and we spend far too much in there..
If I had the time I'd go back to Aldi (but not their fruit/veg that was always too close to being off for us)0 -
Went into Aldi today and yet again they've significantly bumped up prices. Ready to eat mackral was 1.79 last week and now is 1.99! That's the same price Sainsbury's sell it for!

The coop is ridiculous now, although they do have the odd bargain. I saw Tyrell's crisps for £2.60 a bag yesterday, and the 'nice' pizzas were nearly £7 each!I went in for a few bits for dinner as I get 10% off, and left with a couple of bottles of San Pellegrino water which was only £1 per litre bottle. I went to Heron to buy a few things but their prices have also rocketed.0

And this is the problem with comparing prices at the moment - just when you think you've made a saving on a comparison, the "other" retailer increases their prices.0 -
Increases their prices or shrinks the size.
Himself likes those spicy NikNaks crisps. Were £1 a multi pack of 6 for a long time, then they went up to £1.20/£1.30. So when I saw some at 99p I bought a few. Got them home and realised there's only 5 bags in em! Grrr.I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.2 -

Yes, I got caught out with Pombears in the same way!

I've switched to Sainsbury's as they kept sending coupons for £8-£12 off a £60 shop. With the smart shopper deals too and nectar points and Aldi price match on a large amount of stuff we buy it's been refreshing to not fight the Aldi hoardes and stand in long queues (they have got really bad for this now). Sainsbury's I can scan and pack and be gone and plenty of space.
Aldi do have a better freezer selection and are cheaper on some cupboard staples but the prices which were largely static for years have risen virtually weekly.2
