    Yes you can.

But I'm worried: what FORM? N180?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

    Yes, the DQ 180

I think I have filled in right, with the right answers as per the new thread!

I was thinking of forwarding the dcb email I receieved advising me that they intended to go to court after reading the defence to the DQ justice email and attaching the form completed. That way, DQ justice will see that the email works as they sent me an email previously

Why are you worried? About what?

For a minute I thought you were filling in the forms that came with the Claim Form.  I was on my way out and wanted to be sure what you meant.

Just as you have no idea who receives and whether they distribute any snail mail at DCB Legal, sending an email to any address you have for DCB Legal (almost always included in their letterhead "info@") is exactly the same. It is served to their (email) address and that is it. who opens and reads it and whether they forward it to the correct person/department is not your concern. You can prove that it was sent and received (as long as it isn't 'bounced' back with an error message).
  • I just received an email from the HandM courts and tribunals service.
Basically, even though I completed the N180 question form and stated that I did not want any mediation, I have just received an email from the tribunals stating that an appointment has been booked. Apparently for all the claims issued prior 22nd May 2024 or claims issued via the online civil money claim portal does not impact the policy
Mine was issued on the 28th of May 2024 so I must attend. They gave me a time slot between 1 and half 4
It also states that if I do not attend, the judge can rule againnst it so I better do
Have you guys heard about the new changes?

Yes, common knowledge that mediation is now mandatory, by phone call

Do you have any experience from the forum as to how they go? are they helpful? Does the claimant party even attend these?

As I said, its mandatory now, for. BOTH. sides, its also a recent change so most people will have no experience of them, myself especially

They are not designed to help, but the mediator will try to obtain a compromise that both parties will accept

Typically the Claimant will want most, or more likely ALL of the amount claimed on the claim form, you won't want to pay a penny, neither side will agree to a compromise, mediation over, it goes to the local court that you nominated, therefore follows the old track. ( Think of it as a mandatory hurdle that you can go around by offering nothing. )

    Fair enough
Will this likely go to court then?
