If nothing is going to be done with Tracker (personally, I don't see why EPG should not apply to it, but...), all the more reason to tell people so that informed decisions can be made.

I was thinking their silence so far means they're at least trying to put something in place, whether they can get it worked out or not.

Otherwise they could very simply tell people the tariff is staying as it is, and that their best option is to switch to Flexible Octopus.
  • Octopus ever promised to contact customers by the end of the week they expected to do so, so no promises made and no words broken just a failed expectation.

It will be down to the details in the Government scheme, if that lets them do something and get the same support as the SVT and the fixed tariffs, then I am sure they will, if they can't access the Government funds for those tariffs then it would be a lot harder to do anything.

From Greg Jackson's Twitter it appears they've started e-mailing Flexible customers.

Edit: also previous tweet says they got final details from the government on Thursday!

The fiddling by Octopus of day and night tariffs makes Economy 7 a no go. I have asked to be moved onto standard.

I was placed on Economy 7 by default when I was expelled from Go for not having an electric car.
I have osteoarthritis in my hands so I speak my messages into a microphone using Dragon. Some people make "typos" but I often make "speakos".

Economy 7 is the only standard tariff worth comparing suppliers right now.  I don't know if you've seen some of the other threads, but a couple of the more legacy suppliers have very low night rates.  Not that I'd ever recommend someone moving away from Octopus, but it may turn out that one of the others works out substantially cheaper.

What E7 rates have they quoted you?

It is fairly clear though I think that Octopus tend to offer E7 tariffs aimed at those with relatively low requirements over night, where EDF for example cater for those with high night use and low day use.
Certainly time to do a little comparison shopping once the number are all out...
