So will Octopus keep to their word and start communicating with customers today?

I hope so. I’m keen to find out whether I’m wasting money sitting on Tracker.1

I've had no direct communications from either BG or EDF yet(altho' EDF have published their new regional rates)1

I had an app alert from BG saying that i was being rolled over from Loyalty '23 v2 fix to SVT, but on logging in to my account, I am still on Loyalty '23 and no trace of this message. Anyone else seen this?
This is electricity only: no word from Octopus on my gas Tracker yet.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
The initial Octopus email schedule did include a get out of jail free clause.Unfortunately the government did intervene after a protracted amount of their usual dither and delay. I wouldn't be surprised if the energy suppliers are still waiting for the govenment to dot the i's and cross the t's before they can proceed to contact customers.
Unless the government intervenes, here's the expected events for the coming weeks:
- Aug 26th: Ofgem announces cap level
- Sep 6th: New Prime Minister takes office
- Sep 13th: Octopus starts sending personalised messages with your tariff and estimated details (this will take several days)
- Sep 17th: Octopus starts updating direct debit (these will be delivered to those affected over time, based on account status and usually you can adjust them if you think we are wrong)
- September 30th - October 6th: You can send us a meter reading at any time — if you'd like to submit one for the changing prices you can do that right up until October 6th. You can do it online in seconds.
- October 1st: New price cap comes into effect

9am Monday 12 September
We've received most of the information such as unit rates which we need from government and our team have been working through this data over the weekend. We expect to start contacting customers with what this means for them, and their new rates from the 1 October, at the end of this week.
You can find out more about existing support available in our blog or in this BBC article BBC article
Hoping they will contact people soon, especially those with the tracker and agile tariffs, as they are not standard and it's very difficult to know what will be applied to those.
