Worded same as agile even though its not dynamic unit rate on trackers its a daily rate, so I guess thats why I only got one email, although my email was very clear it was refeering to agile.SJMALBA said:Chrysalis said:Agile is covered by the EPG, got email today.
They doing it on the averaged out rate during the day.
From October 1, your dynamic unit rates will be discounted whenever they are above the Energy Price Guarantee rates. You don’t need to do anything — this will be handled automatically.Essentially, this means:
- If your dynamic unit rate is less than 34p / kWh — congrats, you’re getting a better price than most
- If your dynamic unit rate is 34-52p / kWh, it will be discounted to 34p / kWh automatically
- If your dynamic unit rate is above 52p / kWh, it will be discounted by 17p automatically — so 78p / kWh will be reduced to 61p / kWh
My post above @ 10:53 is from the email I received about Tracker.0 -

Intelligent is spammed to me on the app, they want people on it.silverwhistle said:MWT said:Even the current version of the 'Go' tariff is still below the cap, but yes, the rates could have gone up further...I wouldn't assume that Go/Go Faster will always be there for renewal though, there was a little hint at the end of the email..."...and why it’s worth trying Intelligent Octopus when your fixed term finishes up."They're certainly pushing Intelligent, hence the slightly higher discount (8% to 5%) for Intelligent over Go on their EV charge card. The reason for that is that it gives them a degree of control over usage to account for last minute wholesale cost increases, even later than the day ahead bidding they normally work to and publish on Agile.
I looked at the t&c, they dodnt specifically require an EV I think, but they do require you to use the app, which I assume needs a compatible charging device.0 -
Also in regards to were they waiting for more information.
It was addressed in the email.
PPS. I’ve had a few queries about why we haven’t announced this sooner. In all candour, we received the details of government schemes about 15 days before customers on Flexible Octopus would see price rises.
With almost 3 million affected customers, dealing with all the permutations was complex and we had to prioritise them as prices for these customers were rising.
It’s also taken longer on Octopus Go, Intelligent Octopus and our smart tariffs whilst we worked our way through the government rules to spot any possibilities for further incentivising off-peak usage

Well it wasnt they were waiting for clarity.. Not sure what your post means to be honest, yes they chose to wait until other things were done before communicating, I posted to remove the speculation.Phlik said:

Some of which included making absolutely sure they were getting it right for how it applies to the non-standard tariffs.Chrysalis said:

You can't get onto the Intelligent tariff without registering your EV/EVSE and conducting a test charge to verify they can control the EV charging process... Right now at least it absolutely does require an EV, and not just any EV or EVSE just those on the approved list...

I was just reporting what I read on the t&c's, if indeed they only way to use the mechanisms provided is via an EV then its a shame its yet another EV tariff. Thankfully agile exists though.MWT said:Chrysalis said:
