In my case it's just from not understanding how it works. I wasn't aware of the blended average. I didn't feel cheated, I just didn't know.[Deleted User] said:
Why do so many people think that they should pay the same as everyone else in the day, but still get it cheaper at night?ChaunceyGardiner said:
Of course. It would hardly be fair otherwise.I'm confused because this is over the 34 p cap for electricity, or is this because I'm on E7?
Is this just from bad communication of the cap, or did people really feel cheated before that their day rate was higher than other people's single rate?2 -
Bad communication then - it doesn't surprise me. A lot of the questions on here recently have been because people have misunderstood the true details behind the extremely simplified press releases.Ryan_Holden said:

Yes, 35.314p for electricity and 10.296p for gas.Ryan_Holden said:
Did you get your electricity at around 34p?Ally_E. said:I've received an email with a breakdown of costs from Octopus a few hours ago. Standing charge is cheaper than EPG and is staying the same on this fix, everything else is reduced down to EPG0 -
EV Tariff customers have started to get emails stating unaffected as tariff is already below EPG - that was already apparent to some customers.3

Yes, just got mine in the last half hour, as expected no change, although charging on the road with Octopus’ Electric Universe card now gets a 5% discount.bristolleedsfan said:EV Tariff customers have started to get emails stating unaffected as tariff is already below EPG - that was already apparent to some customers.1 -

Same here used average weighting as per e7 tariffs so overall ends up already below cap. (In truth will be a fair way below cap due to low of peak charging for EV users)
Fair decision and fully expected.0 -
The good news is that existing 'GO' customers when they 'roll off' their current 12 month deals are not going be to hit with renewal daytime rates which prior to the EPG announcement which would have been excruciating.
