I'm trying to move from Nationwide to Santander and it hasn't gone after 1 week (and no notification) so rang Santander ISA team and they say it could take up to 14 working days. Not a problem I thought but the guy couldn't tell me whether they even had the online transfer form. After some chat, he said he would go and find out. 20+ minutes later, he hadn't returned (just music) so I give up and put the phone down. Three other ISAs were due to come their way but not now. As far the one "in transfer", I will give them the 14 days before removing it elsewhere. Never again!
  • I requested a transfer on the 14th from a Nationwide 18 month fixed ISA to Santander upon maturity. Nationwide confirmed they'd received the request from Santander on the 17th. Maturity was yesterday and funds are in Santander today.

My transfer from Principality to Santander is now complete. In case it's useful to anyone, it took 13 days from opening the account and went as follows...

13th - Santander ISA opened online
14th - ISA transfer form printed and posted to Santander
20th - Principality confirmed old ISA had been closed and funds sent
26th - cheque processed by Santander and funds now showing in online banking

Note that the transfer form only needed to be printed and posted because the Principality BS are not members of the online ISA transfer service scheme. I think I'm probably going to stick to ISA providers who are members of the scheme to avoid any printing and postage hassle/cost in the future.

One working day after Santander ISA Team member couldn't find it. it has gone through but after such non-communication and service, I still won't be transferring any more ISAs to Santander.

Still no sign of the transfer being completed. Transferring from Virgin

Someone else i know transferred the same day from Paragon, and the transfer was completed on 23/9

Very similar timescale with a transfer from Cynergy here:

14th - Santander ISA opened online
14th - Online ISA transfer request - Cynergy does not appear in the list of providers but I select Bank of Cyprus (former name of Cynergy)
    21st - Money left Cynergy
27th - Funds showing in Santander online banking

Not happy that my money has been 6 days in limbo, earning 0%. In all my previous transfers with other providers, there was no delay. In some cases, the new provider even pays interest from the date of the transfer request, not when the money actually arrives. I probably won't be transferring any more ISAs to Santander

My transfer from Principality was loaded with a catalogue of errors, most of them created by myself. Like: I handed the unsigned transfer request form in at my local Branch. They didn't notice the missing signature either, and it wasn't until 10 days later that the Santander central ISA management team requested a signed form from me.....

As it turns out, I had some Guardian ISA Angel watch over me, as I can now simply ignore the stalled transfer into Santander, and instead go for the Newcastle 4.1% ISA. My ISA amount is large enough to render the £50 from Santander irrelevant.

Transferred an ISA over to Santander a few days ago. In online banking, my current balance is showing as the correct total (transferred amount plus recent interest). The ‘Balance Including Pending’ amount shows as just the recent interest figure (i.e. it doesn’t include the actual amount that was transferred over).

Am I missing something obvious? Can’t understand why both figures aren’t the same.

Those two figures are the same for mine, however my transferred balance was processed a week ago so it might be worth giving your account a few days to sort itself out. If you had to fill out a form and post it off, it could be some kind of cheque clearance issue but if your transfer was electronic then that obviously wouldn't be applicable.

I must admit I wasn't expecting an interest payment to added so soon as it's payed annually or at maturity - presumably this is either back-dated interest earned during the transfer process or something to do with the fact that the 1 year ISA matures on 1st Oct 2023, so it's an interest payment for the transfer date up to 1st Oct 2022.

For anyone interested, I've just received my £50 voucher code via email for transferring in >£10k, so that took just over 3 weeks from the application date.
