Santander Transfer In

  • I opened a ISA yesterday and completed the online form and you do get a message on the screen saying Transfer in received
"Your transfer in request has been recieved.
We will now start to progress transferring the funds from your existing provider to Santander, so please allow up to 15 days for a   Cash ISA transfer to take place"

I took a screenshot as proof but unfortunately didn't get the whole screen, so can't totally finish the quote.

Hmmm so I should have got that message each when I submitted my two transfers to Santander... maybe I will have to resort to ringing them to find out., which I was hoping to avoid knowing how long it takes to speak to someone.

Just to let you know, I completed the Santander online transfer form on Tuesday afternoon, and my current provider messaged me a little while ago to say they had received a transfer request.
Thanks, just what I wanted to hear, did you get anything from Santander when you submitted the online transfer?

I got an on screen message after submission like youngretired referred to:

It's a bit odd though, as the notification declaration relates to the subscription rather than the transfer request...
  • I rang Santander to check if my transfers had been received as I didn't get the "Transfer in Received" message that some have had after submitting the online form.
They could see my transfers had been submitted and would be going to the ISA team, she did say I should get a letter and if not arrived by next Friday, taking into account the bank holiday, to ring again to check progress.
Also they have had a lot of applications for the new ISAs so it may slow up the process...
At least I now know they have got my transfer applications but not entirely sure why I should ring again next Friday as with the bank holiday and postal strike problems a letter may take a while to get to me.

I've just done, I think, a transfer from Nationwide to Santander. Although quite experienced in these matters, I found is extremely confusing with Nationwide special sort/account codes and finding the Santander transfer in screen (and re enter my personal data although logged in). Without the previous messages on this board which greatly helped, I think I may have given up .
Santander in particular must be inundated so it was impossible to use the chat mechanism.
So thank you to those who have posted details here.

I hope this helps anyone struggling with a switch from a Nationwide ISA to the Santander ISA

The correct account number and sort code is identical for all Isa transfers out of Nationwide, 07-00-93 33333334 and you have to remove the / from the roll number.

  • Does anyone who has completed a transfer in to Stantander know how long it took for the money to show in the ISA account? My money left my previous provider 2 days ago but it is not showing in my account yet. Should I worry that my money is in limbo? I've never experienced this with an ISA transfer

I'm transferring from the Principality BS to Santander and my ISA also disappeared a few days ago and hasn't shown as transferred to Santander yet. When one or other of the providers doesn't use the online transfer service (such as Principality in my case) then it's still normal for cheques to be used, so I'm not concerned yet but I would expect it to appear by the start of next week. I expect Santander will also be inundated with transfer requests.

What bank or building society are you transferring from ?

Thanks, that's reassuring. I am transferring from Cynergy. I applied online for the transfer, selecting Bank of Cyprus as the provider and it seems to have gone through. Maybe it was only partially electronic because of that? I suppose I'll just have to wait and see

I transferred from Virgin and I think it took about 5 days in total and left Virgin the same day it arrived in Santander.
