lbnblbnb - if you have read the thread you will see I had a mass panic earlier in the week but this lot got me focused and I sailed through and so will you. I so love flyladies and MSE.

lbnb - if there is a 'The Works' in Norwich i'd be having a trip there if i were you. they have loads of books and other things on all kinds of subjects. i was with one of my youth group in there and she got books for all of her family. there was a great chocolate cookery book and all kinds of other things, well worth a look.

My idea's for Christmas for your BIL/SIL, what about a voucher for a meal out at a local restaurant and for the kids a voucher for a sleepover at your house while mum and dad are out. Could print it up with a pic of the restaurant or of the children. Or shop bought voucher so they can choose DVD's of their choice or even better print a certificate whereby they tell you which DVD's they want and you buy them in the sales via Quidco of course ;) Could wrap those up with either a bottle of wine/beer and or some chocs/popcorn.

For the kids what about a small gift and a WHS 'credit card' so they can choose their own thing. Our kids loved it last year when they got Wallace and Gromit credit cards for WHS.

ETA agree with Rach The Works is a great place, wasn't sure if it was a national chain so didn't mention it.

  • Rach and AnW's mum - more great ideas, thank you! Your ideas are more creative than I would have thought of. OH has just come back from running various errands and I was able to be genuinely pleased to see him, unlike earlier. We have had ups and downs this year, but I do love him dearly. I will just have to accept that he is useless about presents and take that on for his family too, rather than stressing about it.
Love to all flyladies tonight, what a dear, great bunch you are!

Pollybear have a big thank you hug from me ((hug)) :D

AnWsMum I got a similar present from my friend a few years ago, was one of the best presents, I was just unsure with Lbn's work schedule, little ones etc if it would be a suitable suggestion.

lbn - If you decide to have a look to PastTimes try https://www.pasttimes.com to get an idea of what they have, see if there is something you like then you could phone the store if they have one, that might save a lot of trailing round.

Rach, you could try here http://www.tickerfactory.com/ezticker/ticker_designer.php?type=4&sub_type=13 you just pick your 'ticker' thing, then put the message bit on then post the link in your signature area.

I am bored or ironing now - sometimes I iron fas and sometimes slow - today is slow. Nothing great on tv to help, going to go through a load of receipts as the fire is nearly out so I can burn them one by one.

Hmmm must agree tele is pooper, but really I should be dealing with the freezer and not even watching it :o right, freezer time, it's not going to do itself.

3 hours and 15 minutes this flippin giant budgie is going to take to cook, oh heck! Hmmm, need to find out exactly when DP has arranged to go where (dashing round at least 5 houses at some point in the day is all I know) see when I can actually fit in cooking.
