  • LBN - know what you mean about the pressies for ILs. DH eventually let me buy MIL and FIL the tickets for chelsea flower show that i spotted a month ago, but he ummed and aaahed for ages before he agreed to me getting it, and only because he couldn't think of anything.

What about the Rachel Allen cookbook for your SIL - she is brilliant on a saturday morning on the telly. Play.com sent an email saying you could buy vouchers for there and they would email them to you to print and present on the day. I have also gone for a couple of magazine subscriptions, and a lovefilm subscription. Lovefilm sent us two vouchers for a 3 month trial. They don't say they were free, in fact it says on them 50 pounds, and we put a bottle of wine and some chocolates with it, and hey presto, a nice gift. It sometimes is hard to start being inspired though.

Anyway, had a couple of hours more of wrapping - nearly there, although i am sure there are at least 2 things missing so i am going to have a search in a while.

    To do before xmas:
    Housework
    • Remove my school stuff from dining table and clean it all ready to use
    • Wash all glass table mats, put away, get out granite ones
    • Clean sink/draining board
    • wipe round all the white kitchen appliances
    • wash cat feeding mat
    • wash tray kettle stands on
    • Tidy away things on the desk and on the wall unit that need sorting/putting away
    • Get all clothes washed that we want to take away next week
    • [strike]Change our bed just need to remake[/strike], [strike]wash bedding[/strike]
    • [strike]Water all plants before we go away[/strike]
    • [strike]Clean both cars[/strike]
    • [strike]Empty kitchen bin, clean kitchen bin[/strike]
    • Full hoover through – [strike]kitchen, dining room, living room[/strike], hall, stairs, landing, our room, charlie’s room, spare room, bathroom need to empty hoover before i can continue - probably get DH to do when he gets in
    • Clear ironing pile
    • Deliver neighbours xmas cards
    • Put all wrapping paper, tags, xmas paper away in spare bedroom
    • Sort presents to go to various places into bags started
    • Empty chair hotspot in living room
    • put walk along/ride on toy in garage for summer
    • clean bathroom
    • work out where to put the 8 packs of 54 nappies bought from wilko - currently taking up most of the landing 1 put on top of charlie's wardrobe
    Xmas prep
    • Wrap remaining presents i think 3 more to do when i find them
    • Drop friend’s present at her house
    • drop finlay's pressie off
    • drop dave and sarahs pressie off
    • pop to DH's work to see if mum's pressie has been delivered DH been today but will go in again tomorrow
    • if not, try to track down to a postal depot
    • find missing 2 pressies that i haven't seen since DH's parents stopped for charlie's birthday party in october - drat!
    • get out stuffing balls and mini sausage and bacon out to defrost
    • [STRIKE]get lots of AA batteries[/STRIKE]
    • assemble charlie's rock and spin zebra pressie from mum
    • check the batteries are charged in the camera and camcorder

Rach put the img tags at either side and see if it helps

[ img ] before it and [/ img] after it, without the spaces in between I had to put to show you

Ok cancel that, I just tried it and won't work, hmmm, bother. Be a bit of a pain to copy it onto every post you make.

Well I had to switch the TV off because they were on live, horrible, some singers are bad, but I don't think there is many worse than that. **Cringe**

How are you tonight Pigpen? Not out yet? My partner said it's been quiet so far tonight, I think he's decided not to work Xmas Eve, will be the first one in 10 years that he won't be working :D That means I can help, well that is the theory anyway. I might not have to stay up until 3/4am wrapping etc this year...

Meats all bagged up, one freezer sorted, big freezer left to do :(

    Evening all

    Not much done here today.

This morning nipped to Morrisons to get sprouts (which I had forgotten) tissues for my cold + 1 other thing I'd forgotten. OH came with me on way into town with DD, so he says oh can you get me.... oh I'll walk round with you. 3 small carriers and £59 lighter I went home !!!!

Little bruv came round so was lovely to catch up as hadnt seen him since or hols in Sept so one lot of presents left the house.

When OH and Dd came in with her shopping and she was told to leave it until tomorrow to wrap (when I could supervise sorting the box of wrapping stuff in my room) but took it upon herself to go and raid my room and snuffle through the bags in there. So now on Christmas morn she will know there is no Santa  .

Have just tried to chill out since with OH and kids since as we dont get chance to very often.

Hope tomorrow I feel a bit better and a lot less sneezy as need to bake all the Christmassy things leaving xmas eve to wrap everything.

I need my bed now so g'night all
Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!

I have manflu and feel lousy! Unfortunately I'm not a man so I can't just lie around wingeing about it!

Wrapped a load more presents yesterday but I've discovered that DS has a load more presents than DD - DH says she won't notice - of course she will she's nearly 6 - he has 2 sacks she has 1!

Parents and DB and family coming for tea tonight but having a buffet and most of the stuff just needs sticking in the oven so that's okay - the state of my house is not!

So, I'm going to start in the kitchen and move the huge pile of ironing that's not going to get done today, put a load of washing on, when that's finished stick it in the dryer and put another load in the WM, that will hide some clothes and then my washing baskets won't be overflowing!

Need to clear the surfaces in the kitchen, put the ironing away that has been done so I can actually get in the freezer....in fact, I need to do just about everything....and I must clean the bathroom!

Can I just go and hide instead?

    Hi Shelley

You can load your trolley as high as you like - you just can't go through the tills until the shop officially opens - so if it's 10am, I'd be ready at the tills for then!
