  • Morning all :santa2: i was so looking forward to nice lie in this morning, but the neighbour down stairs woke me at 6.30, nodded back of only to have the postman hamering at the door at 7.30 with my terramundi pot, it's not the colour i was expecting but it will do. got my ex-SIL calling round later with christmas cards. i wonder if i can get away with not going to tesco again, can't face the crowds, we only need something for our tea. the window cleaner called for his money last and as not happy at me giving him his £3 in change! money is money at the end of the day, i might tell not to come anymore, he never cleans the corners and he must have used very dirty water this time. right enough of my ranting on. good luck to you people that are going out shopping today. my list for today is as follows,

    do washing up.
    put washing away.
    put WM on.
    write cards.
    make bread.
    s&s kitchen & bathroom.
    vac
    mop, kitchen & bathroom.

    bye for now. x

    morning all

been up for a while but kept myself off here so i could crack on!!

wm is on, i've wrapped prezzies for friends i am seeing today and neighbours (don't usually buy anything but as it's my last christmas and they have always been so good - the lady in the shop downstairs has taken hundreds of parcels in for me and the people next door put my bin out each week! i think i've only done it about twice in over 5 years!

soappie - (i think it was you), no, i think the dr should have tested for glandular fever last time but he said it was a sinus infection (he is prone to them), we're hoping the fact it came back after the antibs means he just needs stronger or longer course of antibs. he text to day he didn't feel so bad thins morning and has gone into croydon to get me a few more stocking fillers, he's bound to feel worse after that!

anyway, whilst i was typing freecycle people came, they were going to take the thing home on the bus so i offered to drop it off for them! better go and do that as picking friend up around 1030.

have a good morning, no doubt i;ll catch up with you all later!

other wrapping can wait til later, have freecycle collection coming hopefully by 1015, really hope they show, it is a chair bed i am getting rid of and really need it gone! plan for today is:

    pay in cheque
    meet friend & give presents
text other friend re christmas drink tonight?
phone gran (poorly with bronchitis poor thing)
    get rid of freecycle offer
    pack 1 x kitchen box 2 x study boxes
    recycling out

AnWsmum.. every time I hear the Quo I think of you.. I am so glad you had a good time!! ... Hope you wore your denim shirts!!!

What one post sticks in everyones mind from this past year???

Mine has to be AnWsmum.. when A asked if daddy was allowed to listen to the Quo in heaven.. that nearly did me in for the day!! I am reminded every time I hear them now.. which is nice because I do like to think of you all!.. and I do so fairly regularly.

And if anyone says my wash basket photograph.. well.. I may cry!! lol

:o:o Awww thanks so much pigpen I am so touched. I'm sure DH was with us the other night rocking away. We did indeed were our quo shirts and denims, still got the pic to post, been busy catching up on the thread!!

As to posts that stick in the mind the obvious ones are the baby announcements. What I love about this thread is that anyone can post anything and there is always someone to offer a hug/kick/advice/glass of wine and no one is judged or ridiculed. We have shared some real lows and the highest of highs.

I regard everyone on here as a true friend and thank you all for the support you have given us 3, it's not been an easy year at times but you've all laughed and cried with us which has helped us along the long road.

Looking forward to a new year with my friends on here, more laughter tears, smiles and drinks :D

Hope everyone is well and i wish you all a very merry, magical christmas.
I don't really have a favourate post but i will say that everyone on here is the most supportive, kind and understanding people i've ever meet. I never thought it was possible to find such a group of wonderful people.angel-smiley-002.gif

Right need a cuppa and then get everyone ready.
Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.
    :j :j
  • morning everyone,

just sitting down with a cuppa. We've had a busy morning as we arrived at the Morrisons at 9:15, and the queues for the tills were horrendous but the actual shopping wasn't that bad. We bought a nearly 3kg turkey crown  for the 3 of us, and we go away on the 27th   I sense lots of turkey casseroles and pasta sauces and curries and whatever else i can think of in January. :D Good job i absolutely love turkey. I dare say the 2 cats will help out a little if we let them.

so, food shop now done and away. DH just popped out doing some last minute shopping on behalf of Charlie  MEN!! But that was good as i had assumed he would be working most of the day tomorrow and it turns out that he actually is home at lunchtime, so i have just managed to get his pressies wrapped and a couple of others, leaving me with about 10 to do while watching telly tonight.

Charlie's bedding has been washed this morning, and a load of my stuff about to go through. May actually write a list for the remainder of the weekend, but come tomorrow night it will be time to play with our boy, with the exception of getting presents out and cooking for us all. Pure chill out time as a family.

hope you are all enjoying some time with your family too, and not rushing round like loonies. Remember our pledge to each other. :D Have a happy xmas if you are not going to be around again this weekend.

Updated list - I really am flagging fast now - it seems to have been non-stop all week. Am having a cup of coffee (which I rarely drink) to give me a caffeine hit so I can carry on.I think my list of things to do tomorrow will be completely selfish ones involving sitting in a chair!
    • [strike]Clean under counter kitchen cupboards[/strike]
    • [strike]Wash kitchen floor[/strike]
    • [strike] Clean oven [/strike]
    • Clean car inside after trip to dump Was too cold after doing OUTSIDE to even contemplate inside...
    • Clean and tidy utility area
I also need to add the following jobs:
    • [strike]Rethink Christmas lunch menu[/strike]
    • Possibly go out foraging for perishables will do this once I've done the utility area and the car
    • [strike]Wash bedding[/strike]
    • [strike]Hoover lounge[/strike]
    • Hand deliver local Christmas cards (dog will enjoy the walk)
    • Wrap best friend's birthday present ready for tomorrow
    • [strike]Wash throws from front room[/strike]
    • Get car tyres pumped up - noticed one was quite low yesterday
