Well I've just been catching up on about 5 pages of posts! I really miss not being here in the day and chatting to you guys. I feel like I'm just on the fringes now and miss loads of things!

Anyway, house still chaotic but will try to remedy that this weekend. I've got my family coming round for tea on Sunday - it's normally Christmas Eve - but decided we'd make it the day before this year as it was the weekend. Still got loads of wrapping to do - haven't checked what the kids have got so hope there isn't too much difference in the number of presents. Finished work now though for 2 weeks so hopefully will get back on top of things but have no idea where I'm going to put all the kids' new toys.

Merry Christmas to all those who won't get back on the thread until after the event.

Well we've found out who it is, because DP when he got in parked within millimetres of him so he had to come and ask when he wanted to be out. Was the house I guessed, same one my neighbour had a problem with, either blocking their drive or actually parking on their front garden! Supposedly he's parked on ours twice but I didn't see him as we were out. Yes the kerb is dropped all the way along. Anyway DP dealt with it in his usual calm manner, when the young man said 'Should've asked and I'd have moved to let you pull in' DP said 'Well if I knew which house you were staying at I would, I would prefer not to have to ask you to move to allow me to park on MY drive at 4am when I get in from work, but if you do it again, I will!' :rotfl: so young man now known as 't*@t face' got the hint. As he went to move his car my neighbour who had the problem with who I believe is his brother said 'And don't be parking on my garden instead!'. To be honest what annoys me the most is their parents drive was empty when he parked there and there is a gap next to it that was empty. It's just ignorant.

Anyway, dinner been and gone I did a super unhealthy dinner of half a huge stottie topped with sausages, eggs, beans, mushrooms and tomatoes :D was lovely!

When I went to make dinner I found the big freezer had been left open a little bit, thankfully it seems ok, food still seems frozen but a little 'frosty'. It's in the garage and it is very cold in there so hopefully that has saved it. I really need to sort through both freezers before I get the rest of the shopping in, or I'm not going to be able to fit it in. I might brave it with a coat and gloves on tonight and empty the lot into boxes and organise it properly.

DS1 finished school now and he's hyper, tigger mode bouncing and screeching, thankfully I am still nearly deaf but certain pitches hurt! We're now on removing games and toys aswell, that didn't take long did it?

Maralum, hello, we were just talking about you. I hope your 2 little treasures are well, and you of course. I hope you all have a fantastic Christmas. Like has been said they're only little once, only do those firsts which happen so much when they are little once, so enjoy those, we'll all be here when you are ready to join back in.

Pigpen enjoy, best going out later tonight, last day at work for many and they'll roll home usually by 9-10pm ish.
One day I might be more organised...........

DH just rang to say he's boss has just invited them all down the pub. Guess he did get home early for me to go shopping yesterday. Just finishing the last couple of cards and then I'll get the kids to bed and I think soak my feet this evening.

Burnt my lip on a chip at tea - had ice on it for an hour and it is still throbbing.

Well, my morning's goals were somewhat optimistic BUT I did do a complete redecoration of the bathroom which was unplanned but much needed so I feel I'm excused.

I am confident I'll knock the remaining tasks on the head tomorrow.

Update on long list of tasks:
    • [STRIKE]Clean bathroom[/STRIKE] Went one better and actually repainted
    • Clean under counter kitchen cupboards
    • Wash kitchen floor
    • Clean oven
    • Clean car inside after trip to dump Was too cold after doing OUTSIDE to even contemplate inside...
    • [STRIKE]Wash car outside (it’s a disgrace!)[/STRIKE]
    • Clean and tidy utility area

I am now having to replan my Christmas menu slightly - just as well I haven't got the meat in yet! About half an hour ago, my DiL walked in and announced she had been vegetarian for two days and was planning on continuing being so. My DD turned vegetarian about six weeks ago.

So, my Christmas lunch guests are now comprised of the following groups:

    Vegetarian x 2
Ex Muslim x 3 (means no bacon/pork/ham/sausage meat etc.) and who also don't particularly relish turkey.
    Eat anything carnivore/herbivore whatever x 1
Eat meat but not turkey x 1
Plus one potential extra - not yet confirmed - who loves my roast turkey.

    AAAAAAaaggghhhhh!

    Ouch Dusty that sounds painful!

Pigpen, I would wait until later aswell, years since I have been 'out on the town' as such but from what DP says it's still the same.

Oh joys his mother is coming over tomorrow, what a shame that he didn't go to the pet shop today when I asked him to so I have to go out :rotfl: I get out of it! He'll learn eventually, so that means I can pop to the pet shop in peace as the kids will need to stay here to see her, then I will go and hide at my sisters until she is gone. Will have ebay posting to do if the stuff I have sells aswell, best find out when the post offices close, I just know I will end up having to go into town :(

soappie - tell them it's either beans on toast or you could all go to the pub and make them pay for themselves :D well done at getting all that done, especially with redecorating too :D

  • Ohh soapie. How inconsiderate of your SIL.

Well My nan as apparently told my DS 3 that she doesn't want to say with us!! Unfortunately there is nowhere else that she can sleep  Already found a packet of tablets on the floor in the living room that she didn't realise she hadn't put away

Well of to pick her up in a minute as she stays round my mums during the day (she sleeps on our sofa-she says it is comfy)

Well in one day my house looks like a disaster soon, the kitchen , well I can't even move in it and the living room well I think I better stop now before I get upset  Gotta laugh :D
