I'm back before the next round of running off again taking DD to a party.
Thanks for all the comments about DS, he is a good lad and will not be expecting a new guitar at all. He never asks for much and so to be able to give a little more will be worth it. Its a shame that I cant see his face when he gets it but that would spoil the surprise. Met his teacher today for the first time, he's only a young lad and told me H is one of his favourite pupils so I know he wont waste my money and he'll get to see the look on his face. I've given him a xmas tag to put on it for me.
I'm lucky to have DS and my grotbag DD and appreciate that, so to all those who have lost ones and will be missing them this Christmas, I'll spare a thought for you. :grouphug:
Well Christmas got even better this afternoon (so just waiting for the fall now!) Mrs Barclays rang me this afternnon and said that as they were unable to verify my original phone call when I was missold the PPI on my loan due to my preexisting medical condition, they will on this occasion refund my premium and it will be in the bank by Friday. Double woohooas that should be another £2k. Perhaps I can pay a cleaner to come and demuck my living room :rotfl: .
I should be cleaning and/or shopping as OH now wants celebratory steak for tea, but I can get that when I take DD to party as he doesnt finish work until 7, but all I want to do is drink tea and playMortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!0 -
A successful day I feel. and more crossed off the list. I had an unexpected trip to Mr. T's. Whilst sorting out the ebay piles in the front room, I found a stash of old bank statements (from 1989/1990 ) so decided to shred them before putting them in the recycle bin. Got my v. old shredder out and it refused to shred anything.
So, being determined to be able to tell you people I'd sorted the front room, I dashed off to Mr T's to buy a new one. Whilst I was there, I ended up getting the rest of the remaining presents needed AND all the non-perishable foodstuffs in.
The only thing I've failed on today is the promised deep clean of the bathroom.
Plus a guinea fowl that was reduced. I've never cooked guinea fowl before (but have eaten it in restaurants) so I'm now off to search for a recipe.

You could always do the old flick the lid off the bottle using the windowledge and your hand....
I doubt that.. I'm useless.. I'd probably break the neck off the bottle and it would either flick up and gash my face or else smash straight through the window.. and of course the window sill would snap off!!!
I am having one of those days!!
And no.. you having one and me not DOESN'T help... *mutters rude names at soappie under breath*LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

To save you drinking alone, I've just poured myself a slightly early G&T. I have earned it today."Washing the kitchen wall cupboards" is not as easy as it sounds. There are seven of them. (I have a v. big kitchen). Also, to give it that 'cottagey' feel, I have a lot of china on the tops of the cupboards. That all needed a good wash too.
So Cheers!I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

DS1 was off school today. he helped do the housework before we took DS2 to nursery. He can now use the washing machine and tumble dryer, so no excuses! is 6 too early too train him to iron?
Got friends coming round tonight so I have to get moving and tidy up. Mainly PC desk and bathroom, so having a :coffee: cheated and got chip from the chippy for dinner. And Hubby has tonsilitis too, much fun.
will have my coffee and then move.0 -
My poorly car is fixed - as suspected needed a new exhaust and 2 new tyres so worse off by £166 unexpected pounds but at least I can drive it with the radio on and without wearing my ear defenders....and slight bonus found a 10% money off voucher in my purse and got clubcard points too so not all bad.
Still need to get all the chrissie cards for family as there's no cheapie card shop in the village and I refuse to pay £4+ per card in the only good card shop.
Flying went out of the window too but hey, there's always tomorrow.
Big hugs to all and save a beer for me pigpen - I can have it for breakfast tomorrow before I hit the duvetI'd rather be watching CSI!0
