Ok plans changing by the minute and LR is still a tip.

Decided that as I'm getting a bit of a Christmas bonus and havent bought anything yet for DS that instead of giving him money towards a guitar, I will buy him one. Trouble is as I know NOTHING about guitars I'm now meeting his teacher at 12.30 and he is going to get one for him and give it to him as a surprise during his lesson on Xmas eve :D . Well a guitar wrapped up is a bit obvious isnt it !

Throat still sore, presents wrapped to take into work, need to go get money from bank and then go see the girls (an hours round trip before I stop for coffee)

Coffe before I go methinks, anyone else :coffee:
Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!

    Morning all

Well done lil_me - and hope your ear gets better soon

Happy Birthday to Mimi and AnW :)

Two loads of washing done, including my bedding, out on the line blowing in the (freezing cold) wind.

Dusted and vacuumed all the bedrooms and remade my bed. Vacuumed landing and bathroom and toilet. Then I cleaned the bathroom and toilet - I know it's a day early but I felt like doing it (and that doesn't happen very often). My hands are really sore now; I soaked the bath for an hour with bio washing powder and then scrubbed it. It will never look really good, it's 40 years old and the coating is wearing thin, but I know it is actually clean. But my poor already sore hands are really bad now. I've slathered on the hand cream!

By Sunday I need to get the little bedroom sorted out. DD has her Christmas presents for other people in there and I have a big box full of Christmas foodstuff. DS is coming home some time Sunday and he will need the bed. I will also have to remember to turn the radiator back on. I've turned it off because there is a plant in there for a present and also to keep the food box cool but I want it to be warm for him. I suspect the food box will end up in my room so I can trip over it for days. I'll never fit all that in the larder ;) I haven't bought all that much extra really, just a few treats. Honest! (I've got another shop coming Friday......)

Kaz - great news about the money and what a lovely idea about the guitar. Bet your DS will be thrilled!

AnWsMum wishing you a very happy birthday :)

Kaz well done getting the money back. Sure your DS will be thrilled with his present, he always sounds like a lovely lad when you mention him....

Given up keeping the living room tidy, DS2 has 4 boxes, some ripped some not, playing with them on the floor. Should have just got him boxes for Christmas as he's happy as a pig in poo.

Money we've raised is going to Just For Kids which supports charity work with children in the north east aswell as running presents appeals similar to Samaritains purse but they are given to children in the north east who will not get anything this Christmas, rather than sending them abroad. I did give to the Samaritains purse appeal this year but firmly believe not enough is done to support our own first, not racist just know of many local charities which have not received funding from the likes of Children in Need because a lot of the funding from that goes overseas.
One day I might be more organised...........

Kaz I just went 'awwwwwwwwww' when I read what you're doing for your DS, what a lovely idea :)

Just finished wrapping the pressies (just stocking fillers) I wasn't far off with my guesstimate there was 18 but the sack is full :j that's to go with her cabin bed AND the pile of pressies off her list (not all of them though), she'll be thrilled.

Got to start flying now.....after a cuppa of course ;)

I know it's a weird time of year, but I just teak-oiled both my garden benches. They were done in the Summer but they were looking so sad and dry that I just had to do it! Maybe the oil will be good for my hands too.....

Help! Small flying disaster here. I decided to wash the cushion covers to do the sitting room really well yesterday. Great idea, only the featherr cushions are obviously not that great quality, and I have feathery down all over the tumbler dryer, the kitchen , the hall way and the livingroom, and no doubt being trod upstairs too! It's too dry and fluffy to sweep up, it just flies in the air... I'm now about to vacuum the inside of the tumbler, and the ground floor. (Stop giggling at the back there, I can hear you, you know).

I have 45 minutes before I have to collect DD from school, and I haven't had lunch yet, and I wanted to wrap up DS2's present's while he was out. I have done the first half of the Christmas food shop this am, and the wardrobe doors have been delivered. However, I haven't started on the bedroom yet...I need chocolate!!!

kaz - fantastic news! Present for 15 yr old - earrings, smellies, nail varnish, make up, or vouchers for HMV or New Look. All go down well with my 15yr old DD.
lil_me - well done on the fundraising, that's brilliant.

AnW's mum - :bdaycake: Happy birthday!!

serena, sorry but that made me giggle, just makes me think of those programmes you see when they all have pillow fights with feathers everywhere. If you do vacuum them, empty the bag first, or bucket, then you can put the feathers back on :rotfl:
