    *bump*

Just bumping with Easter coming just around the corner!

I have made a bar and some mini cupcake chocolates using popping candy! :) Brings back my childhood! I found the popping candy in the £ shop, I think you get 8 packs of different flavours!

I plan on making everyone bars this easter..

I'm loving the chocolate pizza. Shame chocolate is soooo expensive here else I would have ago. You can buy the pizza boxes on ebay if anyone wants them :)

    Hi everyone

After reading each and every post on the 60 pages of this thread, I decided to give this a try this morning. I used 100g of lidl chocolate and attempted the tempering method from this link http://video.about.com/candy/How-to-Temper-Chocolate.htm, I also had a thermometer from Ebay which unfortunately did not have the full range of measurements I needed, so a bit of guesswork was required. I've added cranberries to the mix as it was the only thing I could find in my cupboard!

It's currently setting in a dark corner of the kitchen, so I will feed back (with pictures if successful!) on my experience once it's completed!

If this works, I'm looking forward to making lots of baby slabs (or maybe big slabs cut into smaller ones!) in a stack for my homemade hampers this Christmas!

    Hopefully - pictures to follow!

    It snapped! It snapped!

I am so chuffed, after an hour 15 setting time I got it out of the tupperware, snapped it - and got that very satisfying chocolate snap. I've held a piece in my hand for over a minute and it doesn't melt. And it tastes yum!

    So very pleased!

Any idea how long these will keep - if I make them towards the end of Nov will they still be ok post Christmas?

    Yay!

  • I made these for the first time last year - they're great aren't they?!! Tesco cheap-cheap chocolate worked brilliantly and I got lovely compliments from everyone.
KJP - I made them about 2 weeks in advance of xmas and my family didn't finish eating them until the middle of january. They were still ok by then :) As long as you temper the chocolate and store in an air-tight container (cool, no strong smells) I don't see why they wouldn't keep from the beginning of December until xmas.
