HMV can be a bit of a pain in the jacksy sometimes too. To be fair they are usually ok, but I always forget to look at how many days it takes to dispatch. I ordered simpsons and strictly come dancercise one for a gift, one not for a gift, one is coming and the other says "on special order from our suppliers" - and then says on the description of item "dispatched within one week" - no sign of either dvd. they've got 2 days before the week is up, then I'm not going to be impressed with HMV!

i always used amazon without a problem, then in november i bought some software on super saver delivery. i was sent an email on the 13th saying it had been sent, and then ealy december i wondered where it was, so emailed for it to be tracked.

apparently they are using TNT as a (get this!) 'direct injection service provider' (good afternoon in the boardroom thinking that one up). however, TNT merely held on to it for 8 days, confirmed by their own tracking data, and then 'injected' it into the Royal Mail system.

    hmmm...

it never arrived, i was issued a refund, then last week i received an email saying it had been returned to amazon as undeliverable.

not sure what's happening there, but I now use play.com or hmv.com. both quicker, cheaper, and free delivery whatever the item cost.

welcome ot the world of RM's downstream access

Well Mr Phirefly's just confirmed that the Amazon order we were supposed to be receiving today after all the hoo-har hasn't come.

Thats it, I'm not using them again.

I have used Amazon tons recently and had nothing but great service so am totally surprised at the comments here.

Phirefly, it could be the carrier's fault that your parcel has not arrived, not Amazons. I know recently my parcels have come through various carriers and some of them are completely useless.

yeah - I think its probably a combination of unfortunate factors. Until now, I've used them masses and not had a problem. I just get the feeling they're so massive now that they can't keep up the level service, even if its the carriers error, thats still ultimately Amazon's look out.

I ordered two things from Amazon on Sunday and received them today - that's what I call service!

    ...smug :p
  • I too ordered a book from Amazon. This was at the begining of November. Amazon said estimated delivery time between 3-17 December. They have now told me it won't be delivered until February! The book is still listed as 'in time for Christmas'.

Glad i've read this thread and know it's not just me! I placed an order on 4th December and...i'm still waiting. I'm going to go and cancel the order and pop to my local tesco to buy the items.
