Received 8 items from play.com today, half with the letter post and half by TNT. This were the things re=ordered at the last minute (19th) after Amazon messed up. Thought I wouldn't get everything so I'm quite pleased.

I'm not saying I will never use Amazon again, because they have by far the widest choice and most information on items, but I won't automatically go to them any more as I have lost my trust in them. From hearing other people's stories as well I really think they have messed up this year, they shouldn't make promises they can't keep.

Still waiting for mine too, postman has been and gone :(:(

Same here - nothing turned up in todays post and nothing from amazon at the sorting office, even the stuff ordered and dispatched over a week ago (dispatched 15th and 16th Dec) has not arrived. Everything ordered from other companies has either arrived or was waiting for me at the sorting office so it's only amazon who have failed to deliver as promised. The only other item which hasn't arrived is from cdwow but unlike everything else I ordered that was bought after their Xmas deadline so wasn't expecting it to...

I heard on the radio today that complaints (to consumer.gov?) about undelivered items are up 33% on last year - probably mostly from amazon?

If anything from amazon was supposed to turn up in time for Christmas, and doesn't, you can raise a message (through the online help) to complain. You might get lucky and get some compensation (by way of a gift voucher) I did!

Two parcels not arrived, both ordered before the final date. One despatched in plenty of time. Amazon you are !!!!.
  • I have received all my Amazon orders even though I ordered the last only three days ago. One book which they could not dispatch with the others came today special delivery at no cost. So - well done Amazon!

I ordered a DS lite, with delivery date of 22nd, when it hadnt been dispatched I called and got told it wouldnt be here for christmas. The game i ordered at the same time was on guaranteed delivery for today...its not here

Called them and they said it must be lost and they can refund or send a replacement, but it wont be here today (like I would be daft enough to imagine it would be!)

2 mess ups in 1 week, this is my 2nd order with Amazon and I am really disappointed. I was very lucky to get the DS elsewhere....today! The game will be here some time after christmas!

My amazon experience has not been the best.
  • My parcel finally arrived today via city link.

All the phone calls, emails etc have been worth it. But they shouldn't of been needed. Not to mention city link "mis-sorting" the item as well.

Hope things go ok for those of you who they've let down in an even bigger way and I hope they do something for you.

The Amazon CS rep I was dealing with said they are able to issue up to £10 discresionary compensation if they see fit. Not a great deal if it has messed up you Xmas, but better than nowt!

Of course if you make a real fuss, maybe there is more to be had...

    It pays to complain!

oh something i meant to add but forgot :o
on xmas eve we did have some amazon SD items come in with the normal mail.
now the problem with amazon SD items is they use the same labels as normal amazons but with special delivery printed on them and a different barcode.

if these are not handed over as SD items when amazon send stuff to rm they will be treated as normal mail amazons unless spotted at the delivery office and 'reinstated' to SD status
