Hi guys,
I have shopped with Asda online a few times, and apart from being annoyed at their often unsuitable substitute choices (Yes, I saw the thread about it!), I quite like some of their ranges.
I downloaded the Asda rewards app into my phone, so I could hopefully collect some points to create online vouchers later. However, after £ 90 shopping online I didn't seem to accrue any. I do my shopping from my laptop, as it would just take forever to do a large shop from a small touchscreen phone. Asda's terms state that as long as I have the same login details for both my Asda.com online account and the reward scheme app, they must sync all transactions/ rewards, etc.
Could other Asda shoppers please advise me if I'm doing something wrong?
On the other note, having read the other topic about subs at Asda, I have also been looking in the direction of Tescos. But after registering with them yesterday and joining the Clubcard membership, it turned out they didn't have any next days slots for delivery. The giant all-mighty Tesco not having slots in Bristol?:))
Could people please share if it is normally the case with them and if I need to book in advance to get a weekend delivery? Additionally, are Clubcard savings worth it in online shopping? And what their substitution situation is like? Cz Asda's is pretty dire. And I ain't printing out my shopping list before delivery!:)
Many thanks in advance for all your opinions! If life gives you lemons, make lemonade!0 -
I shop weekly with Tesco. I normally book a week ahead to get my Saturday morning slot - so I finalise my current order on Friday evening for the next day and, whilst online, book my slot for the following week too. I am liking their Clubcard savings just now, there's generally three or four things in my weekly shop that are reduced; and it's good to know that I'm collecting points on top of that (I don't get the fuss of pounds rather than points, as Tesco points convert to pounds anyway?) Tesco substitutions seem quite sensible - I get emailed about half an hour before delivery with the receipt, which tells me what has been sub'd and what was simply not available; I can control substitutionso on an individual item level; and they are generally good alternatives rather than nonsensical swaps. But that may be the luck of having good pickers at my distribution store.:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

Many thanks in advance for all your opinions!I don’t mind the very odd occasion that they sun anything as it’s always for something at a higher value and you only pay the original price.Tesco subs are awful, I stopped ordering from them. No 6 pints of milk and no alternative to sub with 🤷🏻♀️ , no hovis white sliced so subbed with brown bread, no chicken breasts so subbed with beef burgers ???I can never get a next day slot but then I never leave it until the day before, I book a week in advance and edit up to the night before.I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Competitions Time, Shopping & Freebies boards, Employment, Jobseeking & Training boards If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. Thanks for both replies, I seem to be unable to answer back with quotes here.
Looks like both stores have advantages and disadvantages. I still can't get my head around shopping a week before delivery, as every week I run out of different stuff, be it cleaning products or cereal. If life gives you lemons, make lemonade!0 -

I bought my grandchildren a day out at a wildlife park, it cost me £20 of points, no actual money. Then Dad converted the day pass to an annual pass and got the full retail price of a day pass off it.Just don't do what I did once (in lockdown) and forget you've booked it - I got a most unexpected delivery of gin, carrots and baked beans from a bemused delivery driver! And was charged delivery fee plus £4 for the privilege 😳I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Competition Time, Site Feedback and Marriage, Relationships and Families boards.
