E.On Next Online v18 - should I fix like MSE suggests?
Comments

Thank you to everyone on this thread!I fixed to V18 while I was offered it yesterday (kicked myself that I didn't fix on the fix offered end of June when my previous fix was running out as would be saving around £80 a month compared to the new V18 fix, but you live and learn in these times!).After seeing the other comments on this forum about getting a delayed start date for V18, I rang them this morning to enquire whether it was possible to start that tariff on Oct 1st rather than today and they have sorted it for me.
So if you have fixed online, there is still a chance you can delay it kicking in and have a couple more months reprieve...2 -
Here you go. Based on the last QI prediction and no catering for regional differences. It is educated guesswork as we assume no changes to standing charges.

See above Pochase's post in this thread.Hazzabee said:Great thanks - can you link to the Pochase post please?
Please excuse my laziness for not checking back through this thread as I think it has been discussed already but how did you amend the start date for v18 to 1/10/22 instead of tomorrow if renewing online? Did you do the online renewal first then call? Or just do it all via phone?
Phone call only from my end - unable to get this tariff online.
Just to add that I've set yearly target numbers for October 1st 2022 for 6800 kWh Gas and 2500 kWh Electric and the total comes to £2472.65 excluding any direct grants. It is certainly doable even on my limited income.1 -
Done. Surprisingly straightforward to 1) transfer online to v18 then 2) phone with only a 5min wait to delay start until 1/10/22.
Seems strange that EoN don't offer the option to delay start date online for preclusion of MSErs clogging up their phones

Just got off the phone to EON Next now, I signed up to the V18 tariff last night as I was worried it might but pulled before the phone lines opened this morning. Spoke to an advisor who kindly pushed my start date back to the 13/09/22, instead of tomorrow. Not as good as some are getting pushing it back to the 1st Oct but she said it wouldn’t let her go any further forward on her system.
At least I’ve got another month of relatively cheap energy and then paying 2 weeks or so of the increased rate. My usage at the moment is only avg £60 per month for both gas and electric in a 3 bed detached. Main thing is at least I’ve got a bit of certainty now for winter and early 2023 if prices continue to rise!0 -
Same as me, I signed up at 12:15 am so I can call up today on my lunch to delay it until the 1st Oct but looks like I may not have that option, we'll see.MToon said:Just got off the phone to EON Next now, I signed up to the V18 tariff last night as I was worried it might but pulled before the phone lines opened this morning. Really? My mum with an immersion and storage heaters (no gas) on Economy 7 was using 20,000kwh per annum in her flat. Also Eon.DeeQS said:
I pay the bill for my mother-in-laws apartment. It's electric heating with no gas, and an EPC B, so reasonably efficient but as she hasn't been there a year yet it's hard to know full year usage. In her 70's though she feels the cold but I'm hoping EON's estimated 7,000kwh end up being on the high side.

The 20000KWh will be the same no matter what company.
This is an extreme high usage for a flat, almost 5 times the medium user 4200KWh spilt 58/42% between night and day used by Ofgem.
You are aware that this will be £700 to £800 or more per month on a fixed direct debit next year?1 -

How are you folks all managing to speak to Eon on the phone ? Is there a better time? Parent has a faulty smart meter, so no idea how much has she’s used this year and says she can’t get through after holding for hours.I suspect a touch of hyperbole, but even so she’s struggling. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0
