E.On Next Online v18 - should I fix like MSE suggests?

Would you not consider the following being as summer time usage is so low.[Deleted User] said:
My fix runs out on October 1st 2022 (55 days time). I could choose to swap to it now but this would change the £ calculation slightly in favour of the cap forecasts as I'd be paying for nearly 2 months on substantially higher tariff rates. I'm planning on sitting tight until I get within a 45 day window (so as to start new tariff at the end of current good fix) and probably wait to see exactly what the cap numbers are late August before making a decision. Maybe they will pull v18 before then and if that is the case then I will probably just go on the cap.Mstty said:
That's very weird.[Deleted User] said:
Mstty, mine is only a 1 year fix so I doubt it is this.Mstty said:Still doesn't work wonder if it's because of the 2 year deal.
Thanks all.
@the OP, I ran my actual numbers for energy usage over the period 1st October 2022 (when my fix runs out) to 1 year later and found that the v18 tariff came in marginally cheaper over this time (£2750 v £2833 for estimates based on QuizB's capped rates table based on Cornwall projections). It is certainly something I will look at when I get within my 45 day transfer window (for a deferred start tariff date). Of course these numbers have too many uncertainties in them and other energy usage figures will produce different results.
I've pinged eon next on twitter to see what they say.
As at some point during the fix if they can up with a long term deal and the future looked even bleaker we would consider a switch but not if we just have to rely on info here.
Cheers for the info good to know it's available to you on a one year fix, out of interest how long left on your fix? Could be a time related thing like 6 months to go show you tariffs?
Accept the fix v18 today(before it is potentially withdrawn), wait for the announcement on 26th August by Ofgem (19 days time) and then backout with no exit fees back to Flex or stay knowing the savings. Just something to consider
That makes sense that you are seeing fixes being that close to the end of your current fix deal. Will confirm for sanity with Eon Next as we are 20 months away from the deal ending.0 -
I've not ruled it out for sure although you'd have thought the October fix rates are all but set in stone, ATM the v18 tariff is less than £100 lower than the estimates translated by QuizB from the data Cornwall. Even with the low usage between now and 1st October this slight differential would be swallowed up in my case. I'll check my numbers and alter my spreadsheets again this afternoon and get back.Mstty said:

Make no mistake the v18 is worth considering if you know (as I do) your usage with a reasonably high degree of accuracy.0 -

That's up to me if I could see what's available. I can then decide whether to remain on my existing fix or not!
Login to your account and select Energy, Out tariffs from the menu. Scroll down to the bottom, where you will see Check out our range of tariffs, enter your postcode and they'll show what is available. To actually switch (and probably pay more than you are now), you'd probably have to phone or email them, as they don't appear to be offering tariffs to new customers or renewing fixes before they are due at the moment."When I try for a quote there's just a message advising not to change."Did you see that sentence?Possibly because their current tariffs are more expensive than that I am on, but they should be made available to see? They are not even discoverable from their website, without logging in, as a potential new customer, and using both my postcode and my daughter's!I receive exactly the same as others have posted. Therefore, what you posted doesn't work, Mr Ambassador. Thanks for posting the tariff though, which for some of us is obviously impossible to findSeeing that makes me glad it can't be found, I'll stay with the present one!1 -
And here it is. I deleted all their cookies, which I could identify, to rule that out.

That was the point I was trying to make and it only appears for eon next fixed users when their deal is coming to an end.oldagetraveller1 said:And here it is. I deleted all their cookies, which I could identify, to rule that out.
Glad it wasn't me going mad but they do like to beat you down sometimes🤣👍0 -
Unsure as to what's going on at Eon Next atm, different options are appearing for different people and there doesn't seem any clear reasons as to why, although as per most other suppliers they don't want SVR customers they'd not make money from.
As for myself a SOLR from the good old days with Symbio Energy,I log into my account and there's a banner at the top of the page that states:Find the energy tariff that's right for you with an associated Get a quote button.
Pushing it presents me with three options,Next Flex at £767.22,Next Online v18 at £1288.57,Next 1 Year v18 at £1612.68.
I don't really have that much difference between summer/winter usage, averaging about 6 units per day so decided to stay on the Next Flex for the forseeable, whilst being fully aware of the upcoming hikes and that unlike most others Eon don't have exit fees on their fixes which may understandably sway some to fix instead of staying on variable.
Obviously if I've gotten this decision wrong I'm not responsible at all and hold MSE,Martin Lewis, everyone else on this forum, and the cat to account for my error.

I suggest using a different browser to the one you use when accessing your account and go here.

Just one last throw of the dice re getting to the tariffs (it is horribly convoluted for sure). Working using Opera
