E.On Next Online v18 - should I fix like MSE suggests?
Comments

@victor2 Or we could get to the bottom of it
1) are you an eon next customer2) are you on a fix or SVT with them3) if you are on an existing fix with Eon next how long til it finished
It may be a combination of not a customer/customer on an existing fix/SVT. Time left on fix.
As the question came from someone like our household on an existing fix with Eon next it would.be nice to get to the bottom of it to give correct advice👍1 -

@victor2
If you could answer my questions above and now also below as I am sure your message history is too large to find the answers myself 🤣
1) are you an eon next customer2) are you on a fix or SVT with them3) if you are on an existing fix with Eon next how long til it finished
I have a feeling as we have 20 months left on our eon next fix this may be a reason they aren't showing us the info.
I would expect you to see the screen you are getting if you are an eon next customer and on their SVT next flex product but the actual question was from a person already on a fixed rate with Eon like ourselves.
However before I do ask Eon Next direct it would be courteous if you could answer the above for my own discussion with Eon Next.
Much appreciated0 -
@Mstty.
FYI, I am currently with Eon Next Online v7 fix finishing on 1st October 2022.
This is the sequence that gives me the tariff information:
Logon to my account,
Energy Menu,
Our Tariffs,
IGNORE 'Want to see our latest energy prices'
IGNORE 'Already get your energy from us?'
Scroll down to 'Want to see what energy tariffs we have'
Select 'Check out our range of tariffs'
Enter postcode
Hit 'Get Tariffs button'.
Choose 'Residential' slider
Hopefully this sequence works for you if you are an Eon Next customer.1 -
I did answer your questions in my reply above yours, but I'll repeat the relevant part and highlight the pertinent bits...Mstty said:@victor2

Still doesn't work wonder if it's because of the 2 year deal.
Thanks all.0 -

Mstty, mine is only a 1 year fix so I doubt it is this.Mstty said:Still doesn't work wonder if it's because of the 2 year deal.
Thanks all.
@the OP, I ran my actual numbers for energy usage over the period 1st October 2022 (when my fix runs out) to 1 year later and found that the v18 tariff came in marginally cheaper over this time (£2750 v £2833 for estimates based on QuizB's capped rates table based on Cornwall projections). It is certainly something I will look at when I get within my 45 day transfer window (for a deferred start tariff date). Of course these numbers have too many uncertainties in them and other energy usage figures will produce different results.0 -
That's very weird.[Deleted User] said:

I've pinged eon next on twitter to see what they say.
As at some point during the fix if they can up with a long term deal and the future looked even bleaker we would consider a switch but not if we just have to rely on info here.
Cheers for the info good to know it's available to you on a one year fix, out of interest how long left on your fix? Could be a time related thing like 6 months to go show you tariffs?0 -
My fix runs out on October 1st 2022 (55 days time). I could choose to swap to it now but this would change the £ calculation slightly in favour of the cap forecasts as I'd be paying for nearly 2 months on substantially higher tariff rates. I'm planning on sitting tight until I get within a 45 day window (so as to start new tariff at the end of current good fix) and probably wait to see exactly what the cap numbers are late August before making a decision. Maybe they will pull v18 before then and if that is the case then I will probably just go on the cap.Mstty said:
