As soon as they're showing up on your old account you're safe to switch.Anderson1863 said:Hi all, I have a an old current account, just set up a couple of direct debits to come from it.Am I now safe to switch or do I need to wait for them to be fully set up. Which I believe can take upto 10 days?0 -
Thanks, guess I’ll wait for them to show. But don’t want to miss the offer at the same time.Bridlington1 said:

If you are opening a new account to switch into, then you can put a switch complete date in the future upto 60 days. So just pick a date 2-3 weeks away as the DD will have been set up by then. As Santander won't contact the bank until 7 working days before completion. T&C's state will honour incentive if received switch request before being pulled, so it doesn't have to have been completed.0

You don't need a switch date far in the future - you can set up DDs after the switch with this offer. See the terms:Anderson1863 said:

- 2.3.2 at least two active Direct Debits in place on the Qualifying Account (Direct Debits must be active at the point we assess the Qualifying Account), and cannot include Direct Debits set up to fund a savings account you have with Santander, cahoot or Cater Allen); 2.3.3 funded your Qualifying Account with at least £1,000

Thanks I did see this I was just unsure re: “at the point we assess your qualifying account” how would I know when this would be?0 -
Never mind. Just spotted this.3. Cashback Payment3.1 We will assess the Qualifying Account 60 days after the switch has been instructed to decide whether you have qualified for the Switcher Offer and the Cashback Payment under these Terms. If you qualify, we will make the Cashback Payment to you within the next 30 days following our decision.0

I'd look at Santander's Trustpilot reviews first.0

You get £3.00 for 2xDD with Natwest and the same with RBS. Which for most DD is best than what you'll make off Santander.oldagetraveller1 said:Sorry, don't understand the question. What is the relevance of NatWest and R.B.S.?

anyone whose done a Santander switch previously, do they definitely wait the 60 days before looking at it? so the best one can hope for payout is 61 - 90 days?
my OH did this, NW and FD all in the last 10 days and the other 2 paid out within about 3 days of the switch completion.0
