Good Evening ⭐
Busy few days in work and had a late night last night (no excuse just didn't want to go to bed knowing when I woke up it'd be another slog!). Felt worse for it today - so am straight to bed any minute 😇
Habit reforming very hit and miss. Will make a concerted effort to nail down at least one habit this month! Like you Apple, I need to increase my outside time. I have only hit my 7.5K step target once so far in weeks. I need to get off my lazy backside and get out there!!!
I'm glad you are feeling better Greent
Today = NSD number 1 (still!). Bought a book yesterday, and a lottery ticket today!!!
Today I am grateful for:
1) Nice people at work
2) Food I had meal-prepped as wasn't in the mood when I got home to cook
3) My PC and mobile. Modern day 🔮!!!
Catch you all tomorrow x⭐ DEBT FREE : 18/02/2025 ⭐

Great news @wishus, hope tomorrow is negative too!
A showery morning, of course this mostly happened on our walk! Had dried up again by the time we reached home. Received a letter in the post from the hospital in Aberdeen, to say I can proceed with the tests to donate my kidney to DH or another person who doesn't match their donor, but DH will. Just have to wait for an appointment date. It all seems more real now!
Printed off forms for insurance claim & DS3's school excursion forms, then spent most of the afternoon sewing. The sun was still shining when I'd finished, so dismantled the leaf mould enclosure, pruned the overhanging branches above the bin store (chopped up into the compost bin & saved thicker bits for burning next winter), then started weeding. We have some small clumps of black grass, & once the ground had been cleared around it, I could see a tiny flower spike in the centre of one 😍
Put money into sinking funds for this month, added up all the eboy sales money, over £100! 😯😃 Washed the dishes, then soaked in the bath.
Been a spend day today, as it was my week to buy the local newspaper, bought some clothes for DS3 to wear to school when he goes back after next week & ordered a lot of wood for DIY projects, pleased that the price of wood has gone down quite a bit 😃
Grateful for laughs with DH, tiny flowers, the letter from the hospitalUse it up, wear it out

Very satisfying but tiring day yesterday. Went to little Arseda for drinks, sandwiches and snacks and added 2 packs of French marigolds to take to mum's. Sat on the church wall on my way back and spent about 10 minutes resting but really noticing everything (so got part of my mindfulness homework in and outdoor time too - I've also been doing a lot of sitting outside to eat or have a drink/ break).
Blue skies, lots of interesting fluffy clouds, the trees framing the vicarage, a bird flying across the side road but so far away it seemed as though it was floating like a fallen leaf in a gentle breeze.
Put the shopping inside the front door and took the walker round to the back. Collected garden tools, the begonias I've grown on from tiny plugs, embroidery threads and fabric for my niece and put them all ready by the front door. Ex s-i-l came for me at 10.30 am and it was after 4 pm when we came back from the bungalow. She swept everywhere, wiped over all the kitchen units again (even did the oven) and did the bathroom in the afternoon. Mopping has been left until today because the floor was wet after all the cleaning.
She wanted chip shop meal last week (but they were closed by the time her daughter and her bf had dismantled the hospital bed) so I offered to pay for us both. She deserved it and since I've saved the expense of having a cleaner I'll happily lose an NSD. No waste because I ate one sandwich for my evening meal and I'm going to have the other for breakfast.
Meanwhile I sprayed the weeds along the kerbs and side of the road with the very nasty weedkiller (which will definitely not be coming back to my house) wearing one gardening glove and a plastic bag over the top. I trimmed back the tree where it was overhanging the pavement, deadheaded the roses, tied a couple of the stems from the climbing rose into the strong netting I'd attached to the fence, picked up leaves from the 'palm type' plant in the middle of the mum's front garden (aka patch of stones with a specimen plant in a circle of stones in the centre).
Most of the weeds have been binned (will pick off the last few as I plant up with dwarf beans - bit late for planting but they will spring up in this weather). Planted the begonias in the remaining stone planters (readjusted the spacing), put the marigolds in the bed that's most visible from the path and main door. One raised bed has been planted with dwarf beans. The green bin is full to the brim and I squashed the contents down about 3 times - I'll put it out for collection on Tuesday and put any extra stuff in rubble sacks until then. I moved my polytunnel frame (I tipped it over on it's side, no lifting or carrying involved).
My last job of the day was sweeping and painting the old driveway. The fence encloses part of it and it looks tatty. It's now mostly the same bright blue as the shed and the raised bed, done very quickly and simply by tipping small pools of paint from the tin and spreading it out, working it into the texture of the driveway. Used 2 x 5 l cans of paint from the shed (3 left). There will be some bits to go over and the last bit still needs doing (pile of stones to be moved and would have taken too much time) but it looks quite impressive, especially as I've followed the curve shape - it's about 8' wide where the side of the shed is and is just over 4' wide where the raised bed is and then the curve continues and disappears under the fence (only a small point from the bed to the finish).
We also managed to contact the waste wizard who phoned back just before we left and he's coming on Tuesday afternoon and has an estimated price of £150. He'll phone on Monday evening to give me a 2 hour window. I'll miss art therapy again but chose afternoon rather than morning as I can't miss mindfulness (penultimate session).
I came straight upstairs when I got in and haven't been further than the bathroom since. Unfortunately that means it's rained on the bits of the garden I needed to dry out. Really not fit for going back today but it is so much easier when someone else is there to help, does all the bits I struggle with and takes me there and back as well. If I call it off it could take weeks to motivate myself and to actually do the work and I need the bungalow up for sale and sold (that money gives me options and I need those options - and to be off UC).
Going to eat and read my book now. I've had a shower and my pills, I'm putting yesterday's clothes back on so will rest as much as possible before it's time to go.
Grateful for my ex s-i-l (new friend?), moisturising cream, ibuprofen spray (so useful in the middle of the night instead of hunting for pills).7 -
I "found" some boxes of things belonging to the Boy underneath the bed in the spare room. I don't know if he wants to keep them or not but I don't want to dispose of them without asking so they are stuffed into the cupboard of doom at the moment. That will have to be cleared out at some point. I did some more bits of Himself's "just in case" broken tat which I have sneaked into the bin without him realizing. There's an awful lot still to go!
I have lots of little five minute jobs that I've been putting off. Some because I couldn't pluck up the courage to do because they involve phone calls or the like and some that I just couldn't be bothered to start so I'm off to make a list and tick off as many as I can today.
Have a good day everyone.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.7 -
Good Morning
Busy long day at work yesterday. feel so fatigued. i wonder if my iron levels are low.

Hi guys
My NSDs (and diet) still not going well. I succumbed to buying biscuits while I was out posting some birthday cards.
Good news today as my references and post check all back so I start my new job on Monday. I’ve not worked full time for donkeys years so it will be a change of pace. So I need to get organised as I’ll be travelling to another branch until my home shop is ready, it’s not far but I will need to catch a bus to it.
So I’m grateful for everything falling into place, some police checks have been taking a few weeks, mine took a week. Also new granddaughter has been signed off by the midwife as she’s happily putting weight on and sleeping better. My final grateful is for having a maintain on the scales, as while I’ve not been working I’ve been eating everything in sight, I really need routine.

Evening turtles
TFI FridayHad an ok morning at work, went out at lunch and came back to a load of problems
Managed to sort them but not what i wanted on a Friday afternoon after a long week. DD2 and I went to town at lunch and did a small shop at arseda. She treated me to a coffee and we sat out in the sun and chatted about places we'd like to visit. Hopefully we will get to Canada before my next milestone birthday in 2 years..... ! DD1 was feeling anxious but went out with her boyfr and seemed to cope ok.
Have done a budget for the next 2 weeks which takes me to payday. Stopped faffing and made an OP off my mortgage, couldn't work how to DIY so phoned the BS and sorted it; while on the phone I decided to slightly increase my monthly payment and learned how to DIY for next time.
Have put in 2 invoices for some of my self employment.
Have done a couple of surveys.
Going to the cinema this evening - budgeted for
Gratitudes - sitting in the sun with DD2 chatting about plans; DD1 coping with a few hours at a country park; having a lovely long sleep last night

And I am back! Well, I am back on the boat to England. On NSD 3. Achieved loads.Annoyingly my EB0i sale has fallen through, so I am not £400+ up. Nevermind.Bonus of the day, is that I have been over to NI so many times this year, I now qualify for free entry to the posh lounge for a whole year, with complimentary drinks (including wine!!) snacks, biscuits, olives, fruit, coffee and tea. I can spend £10 easily on coffee on a trip on my own, so DS3 and DS4 are having a great time raiding the cans and grapes. Also managed to charm a free pass for DS4 that should cost £25. So bonus bonus free stuff. They are busy charging their mobiles and laptops on the complimentary plug sockets. They also have their own special toilets for special people. - It is a bit odd to know that people actually pay for this nonsense. It is all lovely and everything, but to be honest, I am more used to bringing my own fluffy blanket and crashing out on the banquettes. I am imposting.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Wow, @grandmanerd you have been busy!
@abouttime_2 what age are your children? Might be able to suggest some activity ideas.
Well done in the job @cuddlymarm, good luck for Monday 😃
What film did you see @Deni_debt-free_dreamer? We've booked to see Where the Crawdads Sing next Friday.
A friend asked me to join her this morning for a trawl round the CS. We went in 6! She bought quite a bit, I had a dress, 2 books & 2 t-shirts for DS1 for sproutmas. Picked mum up & did the big monthly shop. Well I spent the max in L1dl to get all the vouchers this month, so prices have definitely increased. Bought some seeds from there & had money taken off them, then bought more in Tosco as they were half price, so lots of veg to plant next year! Put all the shopping away when I got home, brought the washing in before it got soaked with the rain, washed all the dishes, then watched TV & crocheted.
Laughs with my friend this morning, getting reduced price seeds, time to crochet, hanging washing on the lineUse it up, wear it out
