Good luck with the massive lifestyle change, cuddlymarm!Today I am grateful for being back home, for a very enjoyable 6 days away with fab weather and good company, for my plants all looking like they survived without me, for time to slob around (we were up at 6, out by 6.45 and usually not back before 10.30, having spent the whole day walking around and being outside) and watch utube, for getting 2 loads of laundry out on the line.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!9

@abouttime_2, I have 2 teenagers & a 20 year old, haven't cracked the get up before lunchtime situation yet! (Though DS1 is good, as he's often working on breakfast shift) I did drag DS3 & a friend to a neighbouring island a couple of weeks ago to walk up the highest peak in our island group, then to another island to visit his grandad, but other than that zilch. DS3 did discover an app that detailed some anomalies, which he liked investigating. Keep speaking about geocaching, but never tried it.
Thanks @Deni_debt-free_dreamer, keeping fingers & toes crossed. Loved Maverick too. DH not heard great reviews of Crawdads, but will see what we think next week!Use it up, wear it out

A very wet day north of John o' Groats 😓 walked to the post office after breakfast to post 2 eboy sales, then continued in a circle home. Did 2 sewing jobs for customers, cut out 2 bears from felted wool jumpers (ready to sew for craft fayres), did the ironing, filled some holes in woodwork (hopefully I'll get it painted this week), then crocheted & watched TV. NSD#3/4?
Grateful for being able to work on my own projects, waterproof clothing, marshmallowsUse it up, wear it out

Who knew a person could have so many 5 minute jobs? I keep finding more and more but it's quite satisfying ticking them of my list when there done. It makes it look like I've been very productive. Another lot for today.
A bit murky looking outside but still hot. At least I think it's hot. Himself says I'm imagining it.
Just a quick check in today. Nothing much happening up this way,
Happy Sunday.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.6 -
Evening
Today i have done lots of washing including my bedding. Defrosted and organised the freezer. Roasted some BNS whihc i made into risotto for tea and also two portions of soup - never made BNS soup before and impressedNot sure it is soup weather so may put in my lovely clean freezer.
Gave DDs £10 as they went out for breakfast. DD1 is really struggling today with her MH
Going into the office tomorrow so have prepped lunch.
I have read 3/4 of one of my library books, really enjoying it.
I've done some some of my PT work.
Had a nice sit down with DD2 and we watched some TV together.
I have definitely not done enough of my self employment work - i have something to finish but really struggling with motivation, it's too hot and I'm worried about DD1.
love Deni x

Evening turtles
sorry for not checking in Friday & Saturday, we were invited to a last minute camping trip and didn’t have chance!
- No time outside Friday except walking to work from where I park my car. However Saturday & Sunday were spent mostly outdoors camping.
- Nothing notable for acts of kindness on Friday but Saturday & Sunday helped friends with a small tent who came too from our camper-van supplies and equipment. I’ve never seen anyones face light up so much when offered a cup of hot tea!
- I really need to be kinder to myself. I didn’t partake in fun activities this weekend because I felt huge! I’ve promised my self to either do something about it or accept it and have fun regardless.
- A night away with friends with good fun, laughter, a bbq, beautiful night sky & a few drinks has reduced our stress levels this weekend.
- Still haven’t reduced household possessions but from another mindset we also need to rethink how much stuff we take away with us. when we go camping. Our friends laughed at us for having everything, including the kitchen sink!! We need to upgrade our camping chairs and DH is interested in getting a kayak / paddle board as he & DS really enjoyed it. This will also have added expense of wetsuits & life jackets. Thinking of things we could sell to raise the money for this.
- Hardly any screen time for whole family except to take photos.
- Diet completely out of the window! I did lose 1/4 of a pound this week (I was aiming for 1.5)! I’m hoping the amount of steps I’ve done this weekend cancels all the extra calories I’ve had over the weekend.
Alcohol free days = 4/31
Friday & today were NSDs so that’s 4/15. I spent a few pounds on Saturday for sausage rolls & a lighter for the bbq. This will come from my miscellaneous pot as wasn’t planned or budgeted for.
So many gratitudes:
Friday - productive work day / A quick brew with my bestie before her holiday / having all our camping gear ready & waiting.
Saturday - Great weather / great company/ for DS having a go at things even though he was fearful - & loving it!
Sunday - Another fun day, warm weather to try & dry washing and a comfy bed tonight.

Walked with DH after breakfast, collected a pair of trousers for repair en route. Started sanding down skirting boards & architraves this afternoon, who's idea was it to have 4 doors close together? (Very small house, all rooms go off the current living room) will look better once completed, needs doing as when DH does more work on the new internal porch, there'll be a glass door in it, to let in more light, but will also show people at the door into the squashed living space which is I'm need of some TLC! Repaired the trousers, walked to a neighbour's up the road to drop them off after tea. Washed the dishes, prepped letters & eboy sales, then had a soak in the bath. Used the rest of the self heating facemask & body cream when I got out.
Grateful for seeing a huge caterpillar as big as my finger on our walk (green with black stripes & orange spots), eboy sales, pampering, moving forwards with decorating jobsUse it up, wear it out

Hope your DD is a bit better today, Deni
Sneaked the roll of carpet into the cellar whilst Himself was at the shop getting milk. Why do we keep things like that which are not going to be any use at all! Still doing my five minuters. I actually think it's getting me into a routine and I'm finding myself picking up things and putting them away as I go along. I think I might start adding a ten minute job to the list!
Lovely day today so I'll get the washing on and it should dry outside on the line. Might even get it ironed later.
Have a good day.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.8
