Morning all, had a lovely day yesterday. Packed a picnic with things we had in the house, loaded everyone in the car (except DS2), then headed to town. Collected my newly serviced sewing machine, picked up mum, & headed for our annual day trip over the Churchill Barriers. The sun came out & it got very warm for our northern climate 😃 Mum stayed in the car whilst the test of us walked round the cliff path admiring the old war buildings. Could see top of Scotland & some of the other islands, all with different landscapes & the occasional lighthouse. Had our picnic in the car, then went to Mum's favourite place. The boys skimmed stones in the sea & we walked along looking at all the beautiful gardens. We ended by a walk in the woods. Me & mum sat on a sunny bench, whilst the rest walked further into the denser woodland. All very tired on our trip home. After tea I took my neighbour's birthday present round. She loved it! She's a fan of a skincare brand that is quite expensive, but I managed to get some new items on eboy for less.
Grateful for a trip out, sunshine, my sewing machine being serviced
Awoke this morning & checked my bank account, have received the unpaid tax credit for DS2 that had been missed last year 😃Use it up, wear it out

I was so tired yesterday. The result of a late night the day before. Well, it was actually a normal time for most people but late for someone like me.
Started off the mammoth project of sorting out the house by going through my wardrobe. A few things have been put aside for next time I'm passing the charity shop. I don't have many clothes anyway. As it was so windy I washed everything up (including heavy jackets) and got it all dried, outside and ironed, Shoes and boots have been put in their boxes (not that I have an excess of those either) Wardrobe is now looking very tidy and organised and everything is fresh and clean.
Made a huge chilli using up mince and peppers which were in the freezer and some fresh tomatoes which were getting a bit squishy. Had it with pitta bread which was also in the freezer. It was very nice and there's enough left for today. We'll have that with rice.
And I've started my holiday box. Packet sauces, stock cubes, etc. There isn't a "real" shop in the village but a very good butcher so it makes sense to take all the small things that we need with us and have the heavy, bulky things and fresh fruit and veg delivered from Tesco.
Really windy again today but I'll have to go to Aldi as I'm now completely out of fresh fruit. Will probably have to tie Himself's hands together as we approach the cake section.
Have a good day.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.11 -
Hi guys
Still no NSDs yet and today won’t be as I need a book of stamps and a gift bag.
I’ve chilli cooking in the slow cooker so that’s tea sorted, lunch will be salad sandwiches which means I can have a lazy afternoon.
Today I’m grateful daily photos of my new granddaughter, for a sunny dry day and good coffee, one of life’s simple pleasures.
Have a good day guys

Hi everyone.
No NSDs yetbut it's my daughter's 9th birthday so have been buying bits for that.
I'm grateful for
- only spending £43 on a second hand bike, new helmet and a Teddy my daughter had asked for.
- my friend who has organised a day out to Conwy with some other friends. I've joined CADW to save some mo9 -
Hi all, hope you’re all having a sunny day.
Here’s my update:
- sat outside to have my lunch & to hang washing out. Also walked up the road to my parents house.
- Act of kindness for today was to offer to order something from a big online shop as I’m a member so get free delivery for my parents.
- Hmmm being kind to myself isn’t as easy. Need to think of things to put here…..
- Reducing stress for me is to eat better and reduce alcohol. Alcohol free day so that’s 3/31. Food choices aren’t great. DH has taken DS to footy so it’s a late tea tonight so I’m raiding the cupboards while I’m waiting. Need a better option here for next week.
- Haven’t reduced possessions today. Maybe I should aim to do a big area of decluttering a week instead of a little bit a day.- Used my phone a little too much today for nothing in particular! Not really got going in August. Im so fed up of the cost of living situation it’s really starting to affect my mood.- Preparing for the day in December I’ve had a few ideas for DS so started a list on the big online store. Checked my pot for this day and I’ll be £80 short so need to either skim it off or find it from elsewhere.
Grateful for my parents offering financial help so we don’t worry about the heating in the winter, grateful for only having little things to worry about, a sunny day & drying our washing for free.

Oof! - I was moany yesterday - thanks for the hugs, Denix I really wasn't feeling well, and only felt worse as teh day/ evening went on - I do feel somewhat better today, though
Washing has been line dried - that was the sum total of my outside-ness for today (that and a tiny bit of collecting dead plants for green waste bin)
Wardrobe sorting has continued today - between yesterday and today I have a full bag of donations for CS, some items for ragbag recycling, a tatty pair of shoes binned (17 years old - they owe me nothing!), 2 things for flebay and a bag of items given to DD to check through (any she doesn't want will got to CS) I'll take that as a winThere are far too many items which do not fit me - but did 2 years ago, so I will tackle that later this year. In the meantime they are boxed up so they do not glare at me and take up room on the hanging rail
Thankful for finally getting my prescription, DS3 perking up this evening after feeling rough earlier from covid jab #2, for easy food choices for people this evening, for line dried washing, for an unexpected catch up with a fr-olleague earlier today

Evening Turtles. Sorry have been awol for a few days! I am not sure what is wrong with me but I feel really washed out all of the time and by the evening I am struggling to stay awake. Probably just the hot weather and the extra work having a 6th person in the house involves. NSD 3 today so a good start.
Had to give in and take naughty kitten to the vet as he has been limping for a couple of weeks now. The vet couldn’t really find anything so gave him some anti inflammatory medicine and the consultation fee was covered by his pet plan so my daughter was happy.
Today I am grateful for naughty kitten not having anything worse, our Canadian visitor being happy with her birthday presents and her birthday cake actually turning out looking like the picture I got the idea from!11 -
I think I'm getting enough outside time for all the turtles! Dc is camping with the youth group from church and there's over 120 of us on site. Me and dh are sleeping off site, but are helping with kitchen and food and shopping... So we're outside an awful lot between about 7.30am u til 9.30 pm.Today I am grateful for such fab weather meaning all the kids are having a great time, a stiff breeze on our part of the site so it is rarely unbearable in the sunshine, a shower to come back to each evening, dc coping most of the time, fun and laughter with a bunch of teenagers, my freckles.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!11

NSD#2
Pegged the washing on the line before breakfast, DH doesn't bother putting socks & underwear on the line, but I do. Might as well get blown by the free wind, than paying for electricity on the airer!
Went to a friend's after breakfast, we dropped some bags off at CS then carried on our walk. Ended up doing 8.8 miles & when going up a very large hill it poured down with rain, so there was thick cloud at the top & no visible views 😓 of course it started to clear again on our descent!
Cut & pinned 2 hems ready for sewing, decided to have a nap first after expending so much energy this morning. Got the nearly dried washing in after tea, then did all the sewing & cursed inwardly at my machine playing up again.
Grateful for a good catch up with a friend, deciding on a date mid term to craft together instead of only seeing each other in the holidays, getting the sewing finished, a gorgeous sunsetUse it up, wear it out

Morning all,
I took a days TOIL yesterday as no work laptop (DIED), fingers are crossed the new one will be here today. I had a spendy day - at Sainsbugs so no NSD - but on 2, so not too bad.
I have realised that my cleaning and household chores routine has gone to absolute pot since I stopped smoking. smoking was part of the reward system for getting jobs done. So I am behind and it has been getting me down. But I've worked out now, so I can talk kindly to myself and be more encouraging rather than critical Anyway I gave the kitchen a good go over yesterday., and making my coffee this morning was a joy because of that - the room just felt better. So that all of that has been piling up since Easter!
In good news, I paid off £815 from the Credit card yesterday.
Grateful for
- a clean kitchen
- an extra day off
- working out why I was putting off chores.3-month emergency fund (Cash ISA & PBs): £4744/ £6,000
Stocks and shares ISA: £1497
Additional pension contributions £0
Overpayment on mortgage: £0
