Hope you're feeling better today, Beanie.
Yesterday was quite productive. I spent a couple of hours cleaning the Boy's flat and disposing of many cardboard boxes into his recycling bin. Then I brought his washing down here and got it all done and dried outside. I'll iron what needs ironing later today. I sourced the last box of his favourite noodles on Amazon. Apparently there's a noodle shortage in the shops!!!
Today is my payday so budget done for the next four weeks and money all moved to various saving pots. I must confess that I've made a few unplanned purchases this month and, whilst not strictly necessary, they've been for things to make life easier/less stressful/more comfortable. And that's what I'm aiming for - a less stressful life.
Got a few frogs to get rid of today so I better get on.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.9 -
Get well soon beanie. Hope the meds work.Today I am grateful for finding a bouldering place for pip who loved it, for dh sorting out something techy for me that I couldn't do without a laptop, for a dry day, for online books, for my 50p pyjama trousers keeping me nice and warm, for finding some pink meringues without gluten lurking in them.(I wrote this last night but it wouldn't post until this morning)NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!9

grandmanerd - that canal boat journey sounds lovely - i know Worsley as step fam live there and used to meet ex there for walks.
I'd like to sit still and watch the world go by please. DD1 has to have an operation, so we were at hospital for 5 hours yesterday, seeing consultatnt and doing some pre op tests.
My week off my FT job isnt very restful! Apart from hospital, I've been doing self employment work, was in a 5 hour virtual meeting on Weds. Now got follow on work to do.
Having some time off today to get my eyes tested and buy new underwear
I've been wearing my f!b!t which has helped with step count and being outdoors. Walked to pilates with a friend, good chat and enjoyed the class.

Hi Turtles,
Dropped off here for a couple of days. I am on NSD#9 not too shabby.

Grateful for
- a really lovely dinner with a friend I have not seen since pre-lockdown.

Whoop whoop for Friday!
- Still NSD 10/15. Was a spendy day out yesterday and treating my sister & niece to tea out tonight.- Had a great day out with DS yesterday and didn’t spend as much as budgeted for so have more to add to next weeks smaller day out.
- Feels like a long week glad for a weekend with no major plans and that ds footy match has been cancelled as it was early on Sunday.
- Been for my fringe cut to tidy myself up a bit will have it cut on payday.

NSD9 today! Next week will be much better. Working all daylight hours and I will not go near a shop if I can help it. I have a 'float' ready in my purse for any emergencies - I don't even think I will need to pay out for fuel. Cup soups are in the pantry and I am taking my own teabags and milk - we have use of a kettle in a store cupboard - glamour!! Overnight oats in a jam jar will do for breakfast. Keeping it simple, stoopid (K.I.S.S.)Sorted all the shoes in the hallway today, now there is a pair of shoes on each stair. I have rediscovered the hallway carpet. All of it!! Totally clear and lovely looking now it is hoovered.Everyone has school trousers. Everyone has school shoes ready. All white shirts whitened. I'm going to fakeb00k the too small sports kits. New sports kits not yet turned up (ho hum, 'la vie' and all that, it is now due to magically appear the day before they go back). Lots of it was just one size up from last term, so all the stuff I stored from DS1 and DS2 has come out of storage.Lots of recycling has been sorted and stored outside. 2 boxes of inherited nonsense sorted and a lot of it removed. One box of books gone. So all really positive today - documents back with solicitor so the house sale should go through on Monday!!Whoop whoop! Still sticking to the diet. It is exceptionally boring, but I think I can start to see results -4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Up & on the go early today. Dropped DS1 at work for 7.30, then nipped to the shop as we'd run out of milk.
Work a bit up & down, but 2 boys separately told me they liked my dress, one even said I looked beautiful, so it made my day! Caught up on emails too. At the end of the day, a 5 year old drew my portrait, he concentrated well & even did my glasses when I pointed them out to him 😃
Collected mum after work & took her shopping, felt really close to her today. Even arranged for me to stay over next Friday, so we can have girly time & I'll be in town ready for my haircut on Saturday, so saves me 27miles worth if fuel. Put the shopping away, then did a little crochet. Slightly annoyed that a dispute on eboy was started today as customer says they didn't receive the item, but according to the tracking info, it was received & signed for! Eboy opened the dispute, & closed it all within an hour, so didn't get chance to comment on any of it, as I was at work & blissfully unaware!
Grateful for compliments, a little one's drawing & being close to my mumUse it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

Eventually I renewed my passport yesterday. I went to the local photo shop and they did the whole thing for me. Even sent my old passport back for me by tracked post. It did cost a bit extra but it was worth it for the lack of stress trying to do it myself. Plus I have four photographs which I might need for passes in Holland and Germany. I am just so glad to get it out of the way.
Lots of things to do next week. All put into my notebook under the appropriate days so I don't forget. Still beavering away at my five minute jobs. The washing I'm about to put on is going to have to dry inside because it's bucketing down. So much for the weather forecast that said dry and sunny!
Hope everyone is well and you all have a lovely weekend.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.9 -
Good morning Turtles.
Hope you feel better soon @beanielou
Well, let's start with good news. 11 NSDs scored. Took my own lunches to work, and saved a few quid by getting the bus instead of the train because of the strike.
I also finished reading another novel - one from the pile/shelf, not the library. JL Worrad Pennyblade. Really enjoyed it! It's quite racy... Ahem.
Going to be spending today with friends. My birthday is approaching but I am choosing to celebrate it today in terms of having a drink. After that, no booze, not even on my actual birthday. I have barely drunk since my NAFLD diagnosis - once at a funeral, and at 2 gigs, but I've done many many social things since completely sober, and I think it's actually better a lot of the time. You can have a proper laugh, and the memories of the fun are a lot less... Fuzzy. Also, jump into Bootcamp the next day without physical hindrance. I am getting to feel fitter faster.
Today though I have a ticket purchased for the beer bus for me. I will pace... Starting to prefer the taste of Cherries and Berries anyway.
Okay, bad news... Possibly.
I've always described my house as "crumbling" but since getting the windows replaced I thought less so. There are cracks in the bathroom walls, but we thought any movement was sorted by work we had done, and not subsidence. After months of trying, I finally got hold of a plasterer to come start work and he's booked in for next month.
However, on Monday morning I noticed a new crack in the plaster work around the bathroom window. I suspect the extreme temperatures recently won't have helped, but that is worrying. I suspect my husband has convinced me over the years that the bathroom is fine, just needs extensive repairs of a less structural nature, but I feel I have no choice. I have to rule out movement. So, in between spinning plates at my extremely busy day job, I rang local companies for advice, and I have contacted a structural engineer to come and give a quote. They can't come for a few weeks, so I'm going to have to rebook the plasterer even if it's fine.
If underpinning is required, that could be up to £21K.
It's made me feel sad... I wanted to essentially take early retirement from job 1 to focus on job 2, which is less well paid, and live elsewhere. But worst case scenario, I'm going to have to pay for major work and stay put where I am and be in debt again.
Agh!😭
Keep reading books!
