Working on getting back into a routine for DS starting school by setting alarm and not pressing the snooze! For the last couple of mornings DS and I have done a Mr Wicks 5-minute’s workout for kids - following his videos on YouTube. DS really likes it and it certainly gets me moving in the morning. Will keep it up for however long DS enjoys it. It’s a good way to start the morning. One of our radiators (installed 2 years ago) started leaking. Spent a bit of time chasing the manufacturer to check if it’s under warranty. Didn’t get hold of a human so I’ve left a message with the machine. I’ll wait this week for a reply but I’ve got my plumber neighbour on standby.I also need to summon the patience to apply for a refund from the train company after a bit of hassle getting home from London e.g cancelling our stop.First payment for silly expensive hen-do is due. I’d put the money aside for it when I got paid at the start of the month so will grudgingly make the payment.Work was busy yesterday due to two colleagues in our team being off on annual leave. And they’re both away for the next 3 weeks. It’s going to be full on for me and the other two left in the team. But I’ve had plenty of time off this summer so I suppose I should let others have a turn. 😂 One of them is going to Canada (lucky thing) so looking forward to hearing about it when he returns. It’s on my visit list!Healthy eating is still going well. Eating lots of tasty fruit but am trying to up the veg.The £40 from TCashback landed in our bank account this morning - it’s already been sent on its way to a mortgage OP. Currently on track for maxing this year’s mortgage OP amount. Just need to keep to our saving routine and we will hit our target. From time to time, I hear the character Dory from Finding Nemo in my head: “Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming…’Grateful for cooler weather, the calming sound of heavy rain, the spectacle of thunder and lightning, for free audiobooks from the library, and for Mum, Dad, and Out-laws all chipping in to care for DS during the summer holidays.Tomorrow’s a big day as DS starts school. I’ve mentioned it before but it’s the day the radiologist told me I’d see. I didn’t believe her at the time but here I am. xNST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸9

Morning turtles,
here’s my update for yesterday.
- Didn’t spend anytime outside but should have taken myself for a walk as the house & people in it just got on my nerves yesterday!!
- Was looking forward to watching the footy last night. Not great for stress levels but a draw in the end.
- Yesterday was a healthy eating day.
- Had a bit of a budget update yesterday things are tight but should be ok. I’m going to ask for an increase in my working hours. My boss can only say no!! I have the workload to fill it as at the moment I’m doing extra hours for free. My concern is he’ll offer to ask someone to help me instead but I don’t want that.
- It was an NSD yesterday taking me to 8/15.- Grateful for cooler weather, easy tea, footy team not losing.Have a good day.Lightbulb moment - 17/08/2017 £17,033. Current CC debt £0.00 DFD 31/7/24 🥳. Member #8 of Fiver Friday Challenge £175/£2606 -

Wow - that's amazing service re DS1's passport @Thrifty_Taylor! And great news on the tshirt sales - it's always hood to get things out quickly 😁
Took DS2 suit shopping yesterday for VIth form- nothing in stock in the shop, so have ordered some online...... 🤞🤞 Did pick him up a pair of Converse, though - he only has 1 pair of trainers as casual shoes, so it's about time he had something else! He bought some Gr3gg5 socks in pr1mark - I can't see the appeal myself! I'm back in a different town today school shoe shopping for DS2 and DS3 - joy of joys!!
Have just decluttered a couple of items from my wardrobe to the recyclingvrag bag - will take the bag to HnM at some point
DS1 is off to London today - one of his schoolfriend is getting married- they're 22 - I personally find that quite scary! - probably because DS1 is nowhere near that stage yet!
Cooler here this morning- hopefully it stays that way - there are clouds, so I'm hoping for warmish and dry, rather than too much rain - I would like to get a load of washing done
Thankful for cooler weather, apples from the garden.I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £207 -
Hope the wee one has a great first day at school, Idee. I always get very emotional when I see the little ones in their new uniforms passing my house on their way to school on their first day. Some of them jus look so tiny. Mind you, after a few days they are like something from St Trinian's on the way back.
I was supposed to be going to the Boy's today (bit of cleaning!) but it's chucking it down so I think I'll phone him and leave it until Thursday. The sound of heavy rain is calming when you're lying in bed in the dark listening to it but not so great when you're outside getting a right soaking.
So, a day for tackling a few biggish jobs, I think. There is a cupboard in the kitchen just waiting to be cleared out. How to sneak some of Himself's beloved many years old jars of who knows what into the bin without him noticing. I swear he has a list somewhere of things that he's squirrelled away and he checks it every so often to make sure nothing has disappeared.
Right. Time for coffee first. Have a good day, everyone.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.9 -

Hi All I think I am joining very late in August, please can I join. I tried to do less screen time on holiday - with medium success. But here I am. Grateful for generosity of ds1, for late but firm dedication to uni work from ds2, and for basically being at home. FOr the car still working, for the fridge and washer still working, for some plants still being alive. I left ds2 in charge of it all, and he has been a star on a misty night - keeping it all sorted and running while working and looking after the dog. But I am also back in my life, work, sport, friends, things, projects, but I am taking a couple of days of light reccing to see where the most impact can be made. The investment of the month except for a very fancy lipstick is a broom - my front and garden will be so swept by the end of the week, that it has never been before.
Enjoy the sun, the rain and hopeful a few cool days.Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%

Grateful for a walk during a dry spell this afternoon, the smell of wet trees, a compliment about DS from a neighbour, well-wishes from colleagues for DS starting school, delicious leftovers for lunch, OH’s arrabiatta sauce, OH getting home from work earlier than anticipated, and for life and the NHS.NST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸8
