Mention it if the claimant or the judge does, but it's not worth the effort otherwise in my opinion.

The Judge will not think that's a bad thing.  No worries.

You are entitled to seek advice (after all, the Claimant uses a template provided by their solicitor and that isn't in the Claimant's own words) but you know what to say if it is raised and a daft rookie  Judge actually thinks it is a problem, because the link I gave you last night covers this exact point.

Sorry to hear that you didn't win. Can you please let us know what happened? Which judge? On what points did the claim go against you?

As you can see, at least you were ordered to pay less than the original claim.

Judge bingo... looks like you had a bad one as they have included the "extras" that the claimant has added.

this was Brentford County Court, london.
Some evidence i was hoping to collect but was provided by the the gym. basically he concluded that i over stayed 20mins extra of allowed time and kind of used some pics from my WS against me as well.
he dismissed added sum of £54 and claims of unreasonable behavior.

I thought the original ticket "was issued as I stayed 5 mins longer than 4 hours allocated time" not 20 mins over?

However, if the Judge thought the signage - the contract - was clear and he was minded to find against you on that (and believed you overstayed 20 minutes) then the best you could achieve was to see the added £60 or £70 disallowed.

You achieved that!  Don't beat yourself up and you paid less than the claim, and cost them far more.

But please don't disappear from here just yet.

Do you want to get your revenge, and help shape the new incoming law to stop this happening to you or others again?

A final Public Consultation is coming soon.

We need you; motorists need you to help us make a difference forever.  Why should there be such a litigation culture in parking?

If you are not likely to pop back here every week to check, please set up email alerts for this forum and bookmark this thread (below) as we intend that one of us posts on it when they Government opens the Consultation:
    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6333989/mse-parking-ticket-appeals-guide-feedback#latest

    Read the latest posts there.

The PPC money-grabbers have blocked the new Code by filing for Judicial Reviews.  Stopped the declared and much welcomed parking code from February 2022, which stated that parking levels would start at £50.

    It's on hold.

Motorists urgently need it reinstated and the ban on false 'DRA fees' confirmed, to stop the rot.

This year will be your chance to make a difference, plus any other drivers you know (family, friends) who are also fed up to the back teeth with the greedy and unscrupulous parking industry and the stranglehold they have on people.

We need high numbers of real victims to make a point of responding to this final Consultation.

Please bookmark the thread linked above and set up an email alert.  The consultation is expected to open in weeks.
